I did this a bit or at least it look to others like I was doing that a lot. Members on other forums thought I was trolling & I eventually left due to the negative hostility being directed at me :( It appeared to others that I was just complaining, venting, & blaming but I was really trying ...

It’s difficult on this forum format to give back and forth feedback, you can’t comment directly under comments such as you can on sites like Reddit, so I appreciate its hard for OP to reply to everyone. If you press the quote button at the top right side of someone's post, it will allow you to resp...

My loneliness is so severe it's actually crippling. I just feel the hurt. There is nothing else I can do about it.

I agree. Sometimes people just need to be heard. They might not be emotionally ready to change their situation yet or they might not be capable of changing it for whatever reason that we don't know about. That's why we shouldn't judge. We just don't know what their actual situation really is. We onl...

Sometimes the suggestions that people give don't apply to our situations. But people want us to take their suggestions because it makes them feel good that they are "helping" us. I know for me, sometimes my brain keeps seeking for the answers but the answers aren't there. They don't actual...

You can actually really see red when it gets that intense. It happens when you get extreme blood flow to the eyes with a massive surge of adrenaline. It's rare but it can actually happen.

I was 25 when I first learned about neurodivergence. I'm 31 now. The first thing I ever considered was ADHD.... it seemed to explain a lot. Half right. I do have ADHD, turns out. (Though it's taken me until this year to actually accept it, because I'm blind to my own attention issues. It's obvious ...

It's okay if people need to do this. No one should judge why someone posts something even if we don't think they are making the "progress" we think they should be making with the advice given. Sometimes people need to do this because that is how they need to do to process whatever they are...

Whether it's just autism, or if you also have mental health conditions or physically debilitating conditions (for me the one that affects my life the most is chronic fatigue (ME/CFS)), what do you tell people to help them understand that you are not being difficult but actually want to be available...

I was wondering if it's possible to mask your symptoms of autism so well that you don't realize what they really are even though you know "something" is wrong. And, I think it's common to mask so much that you don't know who you are anymore. But, based on my first comment, how would you k...

Does anyone else get tired when something overwhelming happens to them? Yesterday, in the early afternoon, I got news from a close family member that, next month, they are going to get married to someone that they've been seeing for over a year. I like the person they are with and was happy for bot...

I have been regularly suicidal since I was ten years old. That is actually pretty old to start feeling those feelings for Autistic people. The suicide rate of lower support needs Autistic people is at least 35%. I believe, from my research, that we are the demographic with the most number of suicide...

So i'm going to Disney's Animal Kingdom in spring with a group. I know of disneys policies and accommodations but is there anything I should be mindful of? I plan on bringing my ear defenders, a water bottle, and a few sensory toys if I get overstimmed. I also plan on bringing a LOT of money becaus...
