i used to like to take some deep breaths when i was lying down trying to go to sleep, then when i was well oxygenated i'd deliberately stop breathing for a brief period. i found it restful. i wouldn't force it, though. when my body really wanted a breath i'd breathe.

actually, now that i think about it, you might try wrapping paper tape or...sorry, the MS makes me forget the words for things sometimes, that beige tape that doesn't have a slick surface...on a pencil really thickly and see if that helps before spending your $3 plus shipping, or your local staples ...

I don't know if there are any qualified autism specialists in your area (not knowing where you are), maybe if you tell us where you live someone in that area might know of someone. Maybe even someone who sees kids will still see you (he'd know how few adult autism specialists there are near you) or ...

I avoid inviting them to my house and either go to their house or meet them at a restaurant or something so I can leave when I'm 'all people'd out' as I call it.
