Hardly anything about computers seems logical to me nowadays. I find a lot of modern computer systems awfully complicated. I like coding. It is something I did earlier in life. The problem was that the languages kept falling out of fashion. First I learned BASIC, then Pascal, then COBOL, and then......

Hi Steve! Hope you've been doing well! It's actually funny you should ask but it didn't go very well. I appreciate you asking! I tried cutting down to 12.5 mg of Paxil and then using 10 mg of Prozac but I ended up getting badly sick. I ended up going to 25 mg of Paxil and have been at that level fo...

Just wondering, how is the anti-depressant withdrawal going?

Hehe. According to a news article about their scanning service: “People just don’t want to do this kind of work because it’s tedious and leads to a lot of error rates. But people with autism love it and have proven to do it really well.” They also include a testimonial from one employee's father, wh...

So, according to Edmonton Police who they are a contractor for: “Working collaboratively with Technology North, we developed this project to train a group of their autistic employees to assist us with the redaction of body worn camera footage, which is structured and repeatable work that suits their...

Just wondering, whenever you get articles and forum posts about people with aspergers/autism looking for work, it is quite common to suggest that they work in IT or computers. Any idea why this is? I know some people take a particular interest in computers, which is fine, but plenty don't. I was int...

This is completely unreasonable. Where are you supposed to even get a guardian/carer? Many people with Aspergers/Autism do not have much in the way of a social life or supportive family. If they consider it compulsory to attend with your guardian, (unless they have screwed up somewhere as mentioned ...

Good luck, and let us know how you get on. Hopefully it will be OK, but you can always go slower if you need to.

I just found the Royal College of Psychiatrists (here in England) has an excellent web page about stopping anti depressants. It includes examples about the symptoms, how to taper, and even breaking up extended release capsules. Its well worth a read: https://www.rcpsych.ac.uk/mental-health/treatment...

With Venlafaxine, I only had a limited supply (incompetent doctors' surgery), so it was very difficult to make a few tablets last a long time. I got so desperate that I just found a new doctor instead who gave me Citalopram. Coming off the citalopram was a lot easier as I had two boxes (56 tablets) ...

Good luck. I've been anti depressant free for 3 years now. It is possible, but it needs patience with the withdrawal symptoms. I haven't used Paxil before myself. If memory serves, that is one of the worse ones. I did try and come off Venlafaxine though (unsuccessfully) which also has very bad withd...

I'm really at a complete loss as to what these "superpowers" are.

Loneliness?
Depression?
Anxiety?
Being a slow learner?

Doesn't sound like much of a superpower to me.

In a very few, very rare cases you can get a legal prescription for cannabis. Reasons are rare, severe forms of epilepsy, severe nausea from chemo treatment and muscle pain from MS. It says they only consider it if they've tried everything else without success. So it sounds like your chances of get...
