Still an engineering marvel, nevertheless. I would say the transition from stagecoach to railway was more dramatic than the transition from stagecoach to motor vehicle because of the existence of railways when motor vehicles began to supplant the horse and buggy. https://www.digitalhistory.uh.edu/di...

This is a hard one. I guess I would try to express to her what you expressed here. She might get it. She might not. I wish there was a magic solution. Treating you like you're some stranger is what would get me. I can understand the irritation at not being seen as someone special. It's "normal&...

Nope....only in the major cities, or university towns.

Most of the rural (and suburban) parts of the state are really pretty conservative. Even the two counties immediately east of my county consistently vote Republican.

Laos is also a beautiful place.

The trouble is: they don't allow a man/woman combo to share a hotel room, unless they're married.

I'm not going to make a decision on my life based upon the supposition that I have a shorter lifespan----when there's no medical evidence that Aspergians have a reduced lifespan.

I saw at least one person in his/her 80s. There was once a person who stated he/she was in his/her 90s.

My wife's son used to live in a house only a few hundred feet from a railway station. The overpass heading out from the station was very much in view from his back window.
