I started a job about 6 weeks ago. I've had lots of jobs before, but none of the jobs involved lots of emailing, paperwork or keeping my own calendar. I sadly had to give up my own business purely because of the paperwork side of things. When I was younger and had more energy I could just about keep...

Do you have executive functioning problems, like not being able to organise yourself or use your working memory? I'm helping to do a talk next week about how EF difficulties effect autistic people, but I don't want to give a one-sided view of how it presents by saying "it effects me like this.....

I'm still afraid of the dark really. I run past dark spaces in the house lol. I don't think "I'm in danger", I just feel uneasy and hypersensitive to the "energy" (used to be spiritual, now I understand the physics) around me. I usually leave the TV on when alone to drown out the...

They should write EVERYTHiNG down. I find they will usually be clear about the medical things, but at the end of the appt they quickly say "make an appointment for x weeks time, and you'll need some bloods. Here's a form". I'm never sure who to make these appointments with or what they are...

For those who "attack" people who want to share info and discuss the vaccine situation... What the f**k is your problem?! What are you scared of?! People actually having control over their own bodies? Who gave you power over everyone's conversations, or their bodies for that matter. Fascis...

I've had a lot of this recently. It's especially tough to explain it to BAPs (broader autistic phenotypes). Almost everyone in my family and social circle are on the spectrum, (obviously I surround myself by like-minded people who don't judge me) but most are not at diagnosable levels. It seems they...

This just popped up on my YouTube suggestions - thought it was an interesting account of not being believed by doctors and the mental effects, as well as the Possible physical effects of missed diagnosis. This girl doesn't identify as autistic, but she has a young voice and certainly talks about her...

Nobody can have a re-trial unless there is a very serious reason for it- drastic new evidence that there was/wasn't a crime or evidence of police cover-ups as in the Stephen Lawrence case. Of course they have to re-trial if the initial trial was based on corruption. I do think the media could use t...

-sexism (women are more likely to be discounted, especially with cardiac symptoms) -ageism (so what, you're old, you're going to die anyway) -gender based medicine (applying studies based on middleaged men to women of all ages, when this is unsound for many reasons); -paternalism (we know best, wha...

I've found the "acid test" didn't work for me, as I have hidden many of my difficulties until recently. Many of my family had experience of autism, but they had formed an idea of what AS or Autism was based on that, and I didn't fit. They are starting to come round now though :) When it co...

They don't need to spend too much on research if they listened to us. I have jumbled hypo/hypersensitive pain signals, and don't show Much pain usually (I often have gastrointestinal pain). When it gets really bad, however, and I go for help, it appears to them like I am "faking". Or, at l...
