CDL would be a good goal. Being an over the road truck driver would probably be a great job for an Aspie. Lots of alone time, you can kind of set your own schedule, listen to special interest things on the radio or internet all of the time. I think that pays pretty well also. |

I live in a moderate sized town and as far I as I know, we don't have any. I think there is a support group for parents of children with Autism. Those seem much more common. I have never really heard of support groups for Autistic adults, although that would be a good idea. |

That is certainly possible, I suppose. I guess one problem is that we still don't know enough about ASD to know if it can lie dormant and then be triggered by environmental events later on. And that would be hard to determine. Do we know the exact genetic sequence associated with ASD? We would need ... |

I don't know exactly where you live or what the real estate market is like there, but I live in a 1700 SQ FT house that is 80 years old and is valued around $130,000 but then real estate is pretty cheap where I live. Still, I am very happy with it and would probably move to something smaller if I we... |

Even NTs struggle with it. NTs do not struggle with social interaction. It’s built-in. Just like a spider automatically knows how to build a web. Some do. There are NTs who have social anxiety disorder. Or does that not make them an NT? I guess I don't put Anxiety Disorders on the ND side of things... |

Fortunately job interviewing skills can be learned. It will be harder for us to learn them than for NTs, but they can be learned. First, try not to think of your autism or hiding it from them when interviewing. Just look them in the eye as best as you can, try to fake your way through the interview ... |

Criteria C might be in there to exclude people who were NTs early in life but then started showing autistic traits due to a head injury or reaction to trauma. They wouldn't be ASD but some other condition due to that factor. The issue with almost all DSM-5 criteria is that diagnosing is not a perfec... |

A better paying job and moving out of your parents house is possible for an autistic, depending on the severity of your autism, which I don't know. I have accomplished that. What things have you done to try and improve your job prospects? Even some NTs haven't accomplished that yet. I didn't have mu... |

I can think of a couple of reasons: 1. You want to be normal or at least appear normal. Doing those things make you think you would be closer to being an NT. 2. Those are milestones that society uses to gauge maturation and progress. Not doing those things makes you feel like you are not progressing... |

Sounds like you might have depression. That can cause fatigue. Have you been screened for that? The wanting to eat too much and sleep too little can be symptoms of depression. |

What specific things do they have that you want? Some of the things you mentioned earlier are things that many NTs don't have right now either. And some Aspies do have many of those things. |

Antidepressants are used for other disorders than depression, like anxiety. Certain antidepressants could help with social anxiety, if you have that. Unfortunately going straight to antidepressants seems to be the default plan for many Psychiatrists today. |

Looking for an autistic who also hates their autism. I don't think the OP is actually asking for advice -- but asking for validation and sympathy. This. It seems that most autistics are ok with their autism. I don't. I wanted to find someone who would understand this. I understand it. I don't like ... |

What would keep something from being able to enter it? We at least have gravity to explain why nothing can leave a black hole. |
