I didn't put any stock in it, and I'm glad he's clearing it up now. It would've been a nice representation though.

I can tell when it's happening to someone else. When it's me, I'm completely lost, so I always just assume it's insulting.

It makes me more aware of my issues, not only in the moment, but throughout my life. I not only become very self-aware, but also more sensitive, which is not a good combination. It makes me really hate myself. I also start to have this insanely good memory of when I was really young, but that's besi...

I read that 12% of people have been diagnosed with ADHD, and that 1 in 68 are estimated to have some type of ASD, although that is just an estimation, and 47% of those are PDD-NOS.

Edit: NVM, I just got what you meant.

Say something like, "I don't have that problem, so it must have nothing to do with AS."

I watched Modern Family the other day (it's a sitcom for those who aren't familiar) and at one point at a college tour, this geeky teenage boy says to Alex (geeky female character), "I have Asperger's"...then "I actually don't. I just said that so you'd think I was interesting". (Episode was called...

If you tell people you're autistic, you're not autistic?

Anyone have any similar moments to share, where someone assumes that just because something isn't autism in itself, it mean the person doesn't have autism?

Some Aspies, even some people in this forum, when the Elliot Rodger / Adam Lanza scandals came out.

Not really, but I don't think that's really a thing here, from what I've seen. One forum I used to post on had a very cultish vibe to it, which I didn't like. This is a much better vibe.

I hate when sitcoms go out of their way to create awkward or embarrassing situations. It makes me uncomfortable. I also don't like certain situations when they can't end an episode happily, like in Spongebob when Squidward was lying to his rival about owning a restaurant, and of course he has to be ...
