This is me too. A lot of people see me as this nice, harmless guy, like a little kid. My family and some close family friends would beg to differ.

It seems the general consensus is that AS does not correlate with poor hygiene. It seems like the responses here are a lot higher in favor of poor hygiene than they would be if you asked NTs. Correlation doesn't necessarily mean it has to be a majority. If 10% of Aspies have poor hygiene, while onl...

I hate being touched, especially when I'm trying to figure something out. Loud voices, alarm clocks, and trains are the worst, sound-wise. I also hate silence. I have to have audio on of some kind at all times. The glare on the sun through windows is also incredibly irritating to me. I also tend to ...

In sixth grade, one specific teacher always pulled my desk up to the front of the room, separate from everyone else, next to the recycling bin. I don't remember what I did, but he brushed my books off my desk and into the recycling bin, and then called me an idiot. Another teacher told me I was the ...

He was diagnosed at 15, and I only got my diagnosis this year, I'm 24, also I'm a girl, but the main difference between us is our level of functioning. This is interesting to me. You guys knew about your brother, it seems like, for a while, before you were diagnosed. Did your family suspect that yo...

I thought the movie was brilliant. It was a far more accurate and detailed portrayal of AS than anything I've seen. Yes, Aspies like to talk a lot about one thing (Big Bang Theory), and yes, they have trouble with social interactions (Max & Mary), but those aspects don't usually get the detail t...
