Especially when it comes to the things that motivate most people like materialism or to improve their standing in an imaginary ranking system such as the "social pecking order" or just competition in general. Yes, that's what I mean too. And more complex social conventions, such as NTs getting angr...

NTs do this to each other too, but they expect each other to guess what's bothering them because they know other NTs are able to guess. Aspies aren't. And I think that the ability to guess is largely connected to NTs being similar in values and therefore being able to imagine what the other is feeli...

I only once worked in an open plan office. I was miserable. Fortunately, I was fired (for feeling miserable) and found a much better job right away.

From my experience of several decades of trying, I know that asking what's wrong doesn't work. They don't tell you. They either don't know or they don't want to say.

I'll check to see if there's one in my community. Trying to organize one would be good, but I'm afraid not many aspie adults know they have Asperger's around here. Frankly, I think this is my last try, because apart from it I've tried everything there is with no success whatsoever...

I think you people are confusing socializing with shallow, irrelevant, stupid talk (usually with shallow, stupid people) that is a waste of time indeed. Socializing needn't be boring and pointless. Eg: today I had lunch with my new colleagues, and the conversation was about the food we were eating a...

Except for work, where I'm not supposed to wear the same every day, I wear the same dress all summer and the same training suit the rest of the year. I only buy clothes and shoes for work.

I too find it easier to communicate with people from other cultures (that's my job too, for this reason) and I can research a destination for YEARS before travellling, because I enjoy the research as much if not more than the trip itself. So when I rea...
