I still can't watch the news and am upset by things that happened a while ago. When I was a kid, I would cover my ears if a heard people discussing some tragic event.

I'm not sure how useful I am. While I have empathy in abundance, I'm often not sure how to express it.

I've struggled with hyper-empathy. It get so bad I get panic attacks after watching the news and sometimes have trouble sleeping or nightmares for weeks. As a kid, I couldn't hear a fire truck siren or ambulance without panicking and worrying about the people involved. Having no empathy is bad but I...

That's interesting. I could talk your ear off in early childhood and then when I was 7 or 8 I quit talking so much and struggled with selective mutism. On the bright side, I've always kept myself excellent company.

Thanks lol

I really don't know why it took me so long to finally join in the conversation. If I stop posting for whatever reason, I will probably still be "listening in."

Your welcome.

I hope you can tie up those loose ends.

I think adversity has helped me become a more empathetic person. It would probably be hard to appreciate others difficulty' if everything was handed to me on a silver platter.

I'm ready for things to start going smoother now though.

I rarely talk to people about anything beyond the superficial in person - not even my family. It's much easier to talk to strangers on the internet, an it is a relief. It seems like the people around me don't understand autism that well, and it's impossible to mention more distressing topics. You wi...

He does know and he's still not very understanding. I probably need to figure something out.

You always give really good advice - in the long time I've been checking out this site and not posting anything.

I don't really know anymore. Sometimes I wish I wasn't married so I didn't have to have sex. I think dreams are satisfying enough without having to do the real thing that does feel good in the least.

The fantasies don't really help with intimacy between my husband and me. I don't know why.

I thought it would be interesting to hear the hidden talents of members. Can you play an instrument or burp the alphabet? If so, tell us about it.
