I will give Buttegieg more consideration, if Amy Klobuchar drops out. Is Mayor Pete more of a moderate, or more of a Sanders/Warren-type? He's more of a moderate. His signature policy proposal so far is "Medicare for all who want it" which is in contrast to "Medicare for all." T...

Mikah is right and I'm an atheist. Atheism is a belief not a logical conclusion. Logically speaking there is no proof that a higher being doesn't exist.

Buttigieg improbably seems to have a real chance. The question is can he make real inroads with African-American voters. If not his legacy might be to torpedo Warren's campaign which depends on a strong start in Iowa and New Hampshire. By the way, Biden is still the polling frontrunner on a national...

From a strategic perspective in the short term, radical leftism might not yield positive results at the polls. However, it's probably a good strategy over the long term because the young generation now is eating it up with a spoon. Since they're immersed in leftism centered academia from a very you...

Ok Boomer But will enough people listen and act on his advice in a consistent manor to matter? The people afraid of/unwilling to have a revolution are the bourgeois middle class. The question is: is there enough left of that? Or is there a larger number of people with nothing to lose. (For this ele...

Terence Tao is a UCLA math professor. I don't think "math professor" is that smart of an occupation, because the amount of time that one must devote to it The pay for UCLA math professors is terrible. (88k/year). https://www.paysa.com/salaries/ucla--professor-of-mathematics The time inves...

Sadly most who fit such description have great difficulty later in life. They burn out after a time, and/or don't know how to handle intellectual adversity when they finally encounter it. A few go on to be very successful (Terence Tao comes to mind), but most struggle.

That's why governments need a leash, and they have one in Western countries, generally. When the people are holding the leash, then the government becomes a tool of the people, which is something that I don't think libertarians give enough value to. Raising taxes is done not because the government ...

No. Someone in that rat's position should know better. Russiagate has been debunked by former intelligence officials and journalists like Aaron Mate and Glen Greenwald. Cenk is just a smug liberal t**t that puts the word "journalist" to shame. Good on Jimmy Dore for leaving that bunch of ...

I know this might sound a bit hyperbolic, but I actually think this metaphor fits, so please bear with me. But in a way, in this system, very large corporations are like cancer. And I don't say that lightly. In cancer, you have a group of cells that are growing out of control because the body's reg...

Perils of the "post-truth" world. No one trusts anyone. I think it is good in discussions with those that disagree to try and establish a basis. Problem is people tend to be skeptical of this seeing it as some kind of "trick." Pro-life justice nominees frequently get asked if the...
