What I said b4 about it being manipulative was just referring to negative sarcasm. I think friendly sarcasm - when it does not say anything negative or insulting to the person or thing in question, or if its self depreciating, is funny. :) Like back to what Simon said, 'That was like every color in ...

In all seriousness D1nk0, i agree. Sarcasm can be so manipulative because it puts the negativity or bad statement out there, but rids the person of all accountability.

More about art... Here is a little hermit hut by a river. From this perspective, peeking through the little window, you cannot really tell whether the Sage inside is a boy or a girl: http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii58/norymoon/artwork%20other/IMG_4849.jpg  I'm so lame.

Race is such a touchy subject. I’m not sure what to say. I find any time people complain about something a person or child cannot change, especially something genetic, very painful. That is what upset me in part about the article in O magazine. That the children were possibly presented as a bad deal...

Thanks MysteryFan3. It's great that you got a diagnosis last year, brave of you. I agree with your comments about her needing more information. This thread is generating a lot of good feedback to that conversation between Estella and Shelby. I think it would benefit Estella if one of you on the Opra...

I'm not a computer person at all. I heard that its good to use in lieu of a business card or pamphlet if your into the arts or just for sharing your work or photos with people. I'd like to make one for someone else as well, who sells a craft.

Is this a good idea?

Pig's are extremely intelligent, and you can get them in rare breeds, I'm sure. It was a celebrity trend a while back, unfortunatly a lot of people gave them up when they grew up

I really liked your message on the Oprah board. I think what has happened is Jenny is responding from a place of fear and defensiveness as a new mother, and her emotional response has somehow, inexplicably, been accepted by others as a form of political correctness. I know my mother was and is the s...

Thanks for the episode summary! That is kind of shocking. What really suprises me is Jenny becuase Jim Carrey is probably the least NT actor out there... He's talented to the extreme, but always seems to be in character. I remember seeing him on Oprah too recently and it was so hard to tell when he ...

I think she was being funny? You can't live without a brain, without it, your body wouldn't be working and if her IQ was -50, she be a vegetable. She wouldn't have even made that post if her IQ was that low and no one with a vocabulary of a 2 or 3 year old would be able to make that post. Shows I'm...

people can be used to competing with others, or game playing and they mis-interpret this use of language as a kind of swordplay or challenge I think. I, and members of my family also with AS qualities, have dealt with resentment over this our whole lives. Now that I am older its ok, you just have to...

I did not see the episode on Oprah, how could I have missed that? :( This month's O Magazine had an article on the Donor X case where multiple autistic children were born from one sample at a Cryobank clinic, and some of the language bothered me, like the narrator assures us that some of the childre...
