I am not an "antigun" person, but I strongly hold the view that a gun license should only be issued to a person who has a clear need for a gun AND is "of sound mind and sober habit". You will need to be able to prove that you have a valid reason for having a gun, and that you are neither a danger to...

Well I still think that "released from autism" is a deeply wrong, offensive and horrible thing to say

Two words, Deeply wrong.

The value of a person with autism is the same as that of a NT, the police and the DA should ignore the neurology of the little girl and treat it as a possible case of "causing death by dangerous driving" or whatever they call that sort of thing in the USA.

Well if your mum has a terminal condition, you might want to consider what is the kindest way (for both of you). Rather than telling her about something which might disturb and upset her. Instead try to spend time with her while she is still alive, try to do things with her that both of you enjoy. I...

Have you asked why you are restricted by your parents, there might be a good reason depending on your age.

My advice is that it is better to ask about a rule and be honest rather than to break it behind their backs and then catch hell when you get caught.

elfaoife has a nice face, her hair looks nice. the photography is good, it looks like a grey scale photo which is sepia. I dare not show my face here, as a photo on the internet is forever. But there is a photo of my left hand holding a flask containing a red liquid (I refuse to say what the red liq...

Well if all he did was to speak in a slightly odd but understandable manner on the phone, I do not think he has done anything wrong. As long as he never tried to falsely claim to be someone he was not, a robot or some other non human thing. <sarcasm>Maybe I should tell me students when they phone me...

Aspergers relates to autism in the same way as dog relates to animal. Regardless of what the DSM contains aspergers syndrome is a form of autism, but there is no hard line between aspergers and classic autism. There are people who can be classified into one or the other, but some people are at the b...

I think you need to stick to the facts, if he can read english I would suggest Tony Attwood's The Complete Guide to Asperger's Syndrome and also the output of Temple Grandin.

Try not to show him or tell horor stories, the shock horror tales do no one all good.

Well if he is a mini-scientist it might be a good thing, when I finally worked out that I was an aspie is was a very disturbing part of my life. My view is that wrong planet is a bit like life, you get out what you put in. While my experience of WP has been a positive thing in my life, if something on WP is getting you down then move to somewhere else. But if WP as a whole is getting you down, then feel free to take a break, also it is impor...

If you do not want to do metal work which requires such a high level of precision, then why not consider plumbing or electrical work. If I was going into electrical work I would try to get into high voltage work where you typically use a very long fibre glass pole to hold your tools. The idea of thi...
