A few random things to say... 1. I'm finally getting my benefits payment, after 7 weeks waiting. 2. As of April 1st there've been hash changes to benefits, today I found out that from April 1st Citizens Advice can no longer afford to support in benefit appeals. Us poor, unemployed and disabled are d...

Made the mistake of asking online for an opinion of my bridal outfit...queue women being bitchy and outright abusive. I'm too sensitive right now to just brush it off. Oh, and the fact so many companies either don't reply to my emails or don't give enough information is frustrating - including a wed...

It's okay to wish someone dead when they're alive, but disrespectful to be thankful when they're dead? Sorry, but when you're looking at people (such as world leaders) who had a major part to play in the suffering or deaths of hundreds, thousands, or millions, it's perfectly reasonable to be happy t...

Carbs are crack...before losing my job my diet was healthy, long-term unemployment meant lots of cheap carbs and general junk and in turn I ended-up craving carbs like crazy and developed a major sweet tooth. I've been significantly reducing carbs over the last few weeks, my need to eat constantly a...

Can you list some SUCCESSFUL autistic people (not just famous)? Success is a bit of a vague term, basically I'm looking for people who would be good role models for young autistic people and good examples to parents of more severely autistic children to say 'look, it's not a life sentence', as many ...

Having a low moment - I don't like being allowed to think. I miss who I used to be, I miss having a job and I miss having friends. It hurts that people I once considered friends no longer talk to me...not because they dislike me, but because there was something missing in our relationship that meant...

The actor who plays Sheldon in Big Bang Theory has to know someone on the spectrum, the script does a lot to make him seem spectrumy but there are also too many fine details in his performance that must come from an intimate knowledge of the spectrum. This is no new observation, we all see aspie/aut...

Yes, as an autistic women I have felt this time and time again in relationships with NT men. You have needs so you flirt and kiss but you don't really have the need for intimacy so when it comes to sex anything but a quicky can be uncomfortable for you, you realise that this isn't enough for your se...

Sold something on Gumtree...for less than it's worth, and buyer agreed to pick-up after 5 but still not here at 7.30...yes 'after 5' is a bit vague, but I'd consider it polite not to have someone sitting waiting for hours.

I have good teeth - despite problems with brushing my teeth as a child, being a smoker for 12 years, and having not seen a dentist in almost 12 years...I've no major problems, and unlike most people I know I've never had any fillings either. Due to sucking my thumb I had a huge gap in my front teeth...

Yup, I can't use a telephone at all any more due to anxiety...hell I can barely manage to be in the same room as a telephone! I used to work in a call centre and before that I worked in IT support so I was always on the phone, but this worked fine for me because I knew exactly what to say and how to...

I used to work full-time - I've held multiple jobs since I was 16 years old, in my last job I was working up to 60 hours per week in a target driven office environment, but long-term unemployment has now left me unemployable both in the eyes of employers and due to autism regression caused by stress...

I think it's important for people not to feel entitled to welfare (unless they've already paid for it), but putting them down and making them feel miserable is not helpful to anyone, either. The fraud allegations are usually made by people who have no idea what they're talking about, because the pe...

Just because you're a homophobic Christian that doesn't make homosexuals sinful, it makes you a bad Christian. Learn the doctrine you claim to follow, and follow Christ.

It's not unusual with long-term unemployment to feel low, but this isn't helped when people assume you're worthless lazy unemployed scum leeching off the system instead of getting a job 'like everyone else'. I challenge them, if my life is such a dream I will willingly swap lives with them so they g...
