I quit/retired from my last job a little over two months ago and had a great summer off. Whilst enjoying myself, I also put out a lot of official job aplplications and never even got a phone call ... most likely because I was overqualified. Finally got talking to a former co-worker, who knew "a guy"...

In direct response to the OP, the sports industry is no different than the entertainment industry. Capitalism in motion. No more, no less. If people are willing to pay big bucks to watch talented athletes working their craft, the athletes are entitled to just as much money as actors in a movie. In t...

... and how about Tim Thomas deciding to take a year off. Kind of excited to see Tuukka Rask take over the #1 slot; he's been groomed as the Bruins goalie of the future and is more than ready to step into his big boy shoes.

It is what it is. If you had told me six years ago that two of the three California teams would win their first Cup in the coming years, I would have thought the Sharks would be a lock to be one of them. But Anaheim hoisted the Stanley Cup in 2007 and now only a miracle will keep the Kings from doin...

I am a recent convert to early AM cardio workouts. Gets your heart rate going first thing in the morning and boosts your metabolism all day long. I also find that after a one-hour workout starting before 7 AM that I am not at all hungry ... a bottle of gatorade and my AM coffee is all I've been havi...

Have to go with Ken Dryden. Yeah, he sullied himself by playing for the Canadiens ... but he is also the greatest goalie in the history of my almost-mater Cornell.

Isn't Martin Broudeur the goalie for the Devils?

Good point. As long as the Devils have Brodeur, they will always have a fighting chance. It's been 9 years since they won their last Stanley Cup, though, so I think most folks thought Marty's Cup years were behind him.

A #6 seed against a #8 seed in the Cup Finals. Who would have thunk it? As the saying goes ... "that's why they play the games." 8O I guess I'll be pulling for the Devils as I have gone to many Albany Devils (formerly the River Rats) games over the years. If NJ wins, the Cup will almost certainly ma...

We don't have a scale at my house, but just by looking I'd put myself somewhere around 190-195 (at 6'00) ... I'm not cut at all but I have very good tone at the moment. Or not ... spotted a scale in the gym locker room and decided to weigh myself this morning. The verdict? 208. I guess I feel small...

This is me, taken last week. I haven't had body fat measured accurately in 6 months, but I'm pretty good at estimating it based on how many veins show up on my abs. At 10%, there are none, and at 6-7, there are two big ones, and at 5%, there are a dozen more 8O . http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/...

There are different kinds of fit. I was very small in High School but could whack the living hell out of a tennis ball and played all four years on the varsity. It's a great memory but I was far too small (much to my frustration) to compete in some of the more popular sports like football, basketbal...

Last nights game was rough. I hope the Coyotes show up in the next game. They can't keep getting dominated like they did last night. 48 shots against almost guarantees a loss. I feel for you, neerdowell, but the Kings are just steamrolling their way through anything in their path. At this point, th...
