Welcome! I haven't been through Little Rock in a long time. I used to pass through on my trips from Ft. Hood to my home in Indiana. You may also want to read books by John Robison and Temple Grandin.

Here in America we have forensic anthropologists, and I am assuming that the UK has them, also. Forensic anthropologists help identify human remains that cannot be identified by usual means. The Fox TV series "Bones" features forensic anthropologists as well as a series of books by Kathy Reichs.

Good for you for moving into your own apartment. You can furnish as you go. Thrift stores are a great place to get furniture. I would avoid mattresses and sofas from thrift stores. Big box stores often have decent, lower cost furniture. I agree that your own place can be a place of safety and also a...

I don't know anything about UK colleges, but isn't there one that offers more online courses? My wife completed a bachelors degree almost completely online. However, I think that some exposure to actual classrooms is beneficial. I obtained my degree at a large, Midwestern university. My school, howe...

I usually keep quiet, as well. I am frequently told that I have nothing but "useless trivia" in my head. Well, it isn't useless to me. The acquisition of facts is comforting for me. Those closest to me don't seem to "get" this. I think my wife has useless religious dogma cluttering her mind, but I d...

Rick Perry is so adorable. His childish conspiracy ideas and rants are just so cute. He really should be sent outside to play on his swingset, catch fireflies, and eat his cookies and milk in kindergarten. He is just a silly, little boy that hopefully will grow into a responsible adult.

Just to be clear, the United States does not have direct democracy. We are a federal republic with representative democracy. Our Constitution outlines the structure and powers of the central goverment. Each of our fifty states and commonwealths has a constitution. The American Constitution and our f...

I have no anger towards any god because they do not exist. I used to consider myself Christian. I attended church every Sunday, attended Bible studies, and went to Sunday school. I thought that I had gained acceptance and friends among God's elect. I was so wrong. I am not capable of accepting any d...

To those of you who accuse us of excess consumption, you are absolutely correct. The nearest city to me, population 50,000 has one of the largest malls outside Indianapolis. This mall boasts five large jewelry stores, six large department stores, a large store stuffed with kitchen wares, two places ...

I had heard that German immigrants resisted speaking English for many years. No immigrant group in this country has persisted speaking their native language that long. Not speaking English here means not being able to participate fully in American life. The large Amish community in northern Indiana ...

Look, you can't make a proper grilled cheese sandwich without American cheese. My cheese potatoes would be terrible if it wasn't for Velveeta. You can't have a true cheeseburger without American cheese. Of course, bacon goes with everything. I am not sure that any sober American would consider Ameri...

It isn't easy for many Americans to pinpoint specific ethnic origins. Americans have come from nearly every nation in the world. Some of us have Native American or African American descent. I doubt AS has a specific ethnic origin.

The two term limit for Presidents was another amendment added to the Constitution. President Roosevelt won 4 terms in office and the people didn't want that to happen again. It is not easy to pass an amendment. It must pass both houses of Congress by, I believe, a 75% vote in favor. It then must be ...
