I took the test and came to the conclusion that I'm good at tests. I scored high on everything. Mostly, this test says my brain is more male but I think that's just because this test is mostly about things men are good at. I scored high on all the women's stuff but there were only a few questions wh... |

I'm curious as to what other people have to say. Do you think there is any truth to the "extreme male brain theory" of AS? Do you relate well to other women? How about to men? To me, being a woman with autism means marginalization. I've come to the sad conclusion that people without penises simply ... |

Women don't have to wear makeup, they choose to. Generally, I don't bother but when I do, I garner more positive reaction than when I don't, and not just amorous attention, but actual respect. My integrity gets magically elevated. I've also noticed how differently people treat me if I show a little ... |

The other part is not letting them get you, which is easier said than done. I don't want to get too far from the OP but, no kidding. Don't EVER let them see you cry. For many bullies, that's the signal to pounce. This can be problematic in that when we learn to shutter our feelings for protection (... |

Volunteering might be suitable for some aspies. People who run organizations to help others generally tend to appreciate anyone willing to help and will be the first to look beyond any "weirdness." Helping others is a good way to get out of yourself a little, too. For me, it prompts me to better app... |

I totally relate. I thought I was normal, and it is really only in retrospect that I see how different I was and how my behavior led to the "bullying" I always had to deal with. (at least had to deal with until I punched a kid out in the middle of class in the 10th grade). I got physically bullied ... |

It's a mystical way of saying you can't have it both ways. Once you choose, it's over. If you eat your cake, it's gone; you can't have it anymore. |

I was not normal, but everyone, especially my parents, insisted I was and then would get upset at me for "acting up." I was confused a lot of the time. I was smart, got good grades, was very athletic, first place in everything, was even semi-popular at school but could never seem to get my mother's ... |

I don't have much trouble talking to anyone except very young adults. I'm just not cool enough and often feel put down and ridiculed by the early 20's age set. Little kids are easy because they don't know more than me... usually... and they're so dang cute. Old people, however, tend to be nice and p... |

Everyone I know procrastinates. I do and I don't. The tendency is there but maybe I'm old enough and have screwed things up so many times I've decided it's better to just get it done first and play later. Negative consequences are a great deterrent. I think some of my problem might be distraction-re... |

Women aren't mind readers. If a man wants a woman bad enough, he'll muster the courage to get her. If he can't, he probably doesn't deserve her in the first place. Why saddle a woman with a man just because you feel sorry for him? That's a pretty insulting thing to suggest to men with AS. Of course... |

I think the best way to find people to date is to get involved in a group hobby, club or activity, especially if it's something in which you excel. Its easier to have reasons to interact. It takes longer but I think you get better results. Don't discount any new, platonic friendships, either. Everyo... |
