I just feel so screwed up that I'm starting to loose my handle on everything. For so long everything had to be so tightly controlled and now I simply don't have the stamina to keep it up. Let me explain. I'm a high functioning autistic female who was raised as an NT. I'm 53 years old and the third o...

Wear oven mitts. What? I didn't say it was the *best* idea. Actually, this is a great idea - on top of keeping one's nails trim and nearly useless. My 82 yr. old dad found some extra long mitts that really help him not to pick. His skin is, or I should say was, riddled with sores and itchy spots fr...

Threatening suicide when you're not is selfish and immature. If you want to handle your problem like an adult, do what the rest of us do; follow the chain of command. You probably have been given information on how to handle grievances; try that. Usually, it involves contacting the worker's supervis...

I can tell you've put a lot of thought into this. You have a lot of legitimate gripes but your proposal kinda comes off more like a rant. I feel compelled to defend young parents of autistic children. You don't have much compassion for them and you seem to want to dictate how they should behave - as...

That's kinda weird. Who knows why kids do things. Have you tried asking someone?

So... what? Are you going to put all the Autists in a box to keep them away from the big, bad, mean NT's?

While I find your points interesting and informative, I don't think the overall idea is practical.

Though, it might make a good book.

I actually went in to work on my day off today just to help out and socialize... without the pressure of being expected to work, it was kinda' fun! I got to help anyone who needed it... (there's a dedicated "support" team who are often swamped and unable to help when needed.) I might do that again....

Last time I was at the pediactric place, they said I was 5' 7" so I'm saying that, but my dad's 5' 7" and I'm a little taller than him, so i'm guessing i'm more around 5' 8".

...or your dad is lying. Men often do that about their height.

Schedule a time for something - whatever activity that will get you near some girls. Make it like an appointment. Sitting at your computer isn't living and it's not getting you out of your loneliness. If anything, it's making it worse. Stop it. Replace it. As for meeting girls, if you want to meet a...

I would think the easiest thing to do would be to replace the stim, if you can. I've known people who stroked rabbit's feet but that's gross. They really are the feet of rabbits. The rope idea is clever - or a tassel attached to a key chain? You might try a fabric store for the right texture. I thi...

I have a problem with the fact that this is being done for a murderer in prison when there are so many more deserving people in this country who will never be able to have this surgery because they can't afford it and aren't willing to murder someone to get it. It just seems so wrong. Hmmm, this wil...

Yes... THIS!

At my age, you'd think I'd get a clue that just about EVERYONE lies all the time but I fall for it over and over. It's like I'm missing the caution gene.

In a man's scheme of things women are not important, but really? How did you deduce this from what I stated? You wouldn't mind if we started referencing everyone as she? I wouldn't care. Perhaps the reason women "overreact" to the improper use of such pronouns is because women die because of the di...
