On the other hand, as has been pointed out here already, there is something to be said for the effect on development of social skills and personal interaction that you don't get if there's never anyone else around. +1 I have a twin brother, and he's my worst enemy and best friend at the same time, ...

That's why I'm thinking of just trying for early graduation to leave high school all together and getting all my things together for college. Plus I have no friends here cause everyone's all clique-y. -_-; Just beware that college, although usually better than high school with respect to acceptance...

Though that term may describe several of us, (including myself), I there are some who definitely are NOT. I'm reasonably certain one of the other guys in the poker group I am in is an aspie, but there is absolutely no way he would ever even consider being with a guy. Many AS folks have other social...

Looking at her website, it appears that she's already stopped at all the North American venues in December and January. She'll be overseas at least through April 2010.

I tend to lean towards mammals since they're warm and soft, which is great for cuddling when I feel crappy.

She says she fell in love with me when I was taking care of her while she was sick. Besides, we got engaged a year into relationship. In these situations she was the one who wanted romanse and I was the one who didn't. So in terms of getting her to want it, I got that! As far as my own disinterest,...

I just don't watch them because I'm not big on sitcoms in general, although I can sit through them. Also my tolerance for political satire and gratuitous violence is kinda low for me to watch them on a regular basis.

Iceman, I figure it's quite possible that for the future you can still get some useful info from her if you ask for indirect stuff... like for example, you could ask her for her opinions on how to make you more attractive to women in general. If you switch the focus off of her, and instead onto othe...

Don't make a move unless and until she and her b.f. break up. And if she breaks up with him just to be with you, then proceed with extreme caution ; if she is willing to leave one guy for another, who's to say she won't do the same to you? At any rate, best of luck to you! +1 Good advice, this is a...

I've read that getting an AS child a pet will help him or her socialize with people - but for me, being around my cats and dogs made me feel less connected with people, and more so with animals, For me, getting a dog helped me with both. I learned how to take care of other living beings and connect...

That's one of those quotes that, when it works, it's so funny and awesome in retrospect that you tell your children it when they grow up... and when it doesn't work, you hide under a rock and never speak of it again.

A reason no one else has suggested yet is that traditionally psychoanalysts are to keep a distance and pretty much answer anything with "What do you think?"

My psychiatrist used to do this a lot, but I must admit that I liked it. It was quite appropriate for my needs. :)

(sorry mak, I'll keep this short and try to keep it on-topic as much as possible ) Roman: When I said that a relationship would become "different", what I meant specifically was that the relationship would begin to take on aspects of a logical relationship . My posts had been based on the a...
