i read the manifesto (it would actually be hilarious if it wasn't for the ending), the pathological sense of entitlement seemed like the main problem. and it was completely non-sensical. he expected women to just show up, date him and have sex, even though he didn't like talking to them, didn't like...

I think there's a lot of taking perverse pride in being 'unemotional', 'non-empathic' etc, wearing these alleged ASD qualities as a badge of honour. Which is understandable and common across human experience - taking what is used to denigrate and dismiss one as less/lacking/not 'normal', and making...

@gonewild that pain theory is very interesting. i feel there is something to it, but i'm not sure on the specifics. i do think i probably feel more of a physical toll on my body than the "average" person when i experience emotions, good or bad. the pain theory could be why some people say that autis...

the few jobs i've had were all terrible and left me too wiped to do anything else - and they were part time! so it could be worse. :P :) tbh, i try to spend as much of my time making things and learning things as possible and i feel super lucky that i have the time to do that! i'm much less depresse...

i find the internet can be much more alienating than real life. i mean, there are the autistic people that invade your personal space and comfort zone and there are the the ones that are more withdrawn/introspective. online, it seems like the type of people (autistic or not) that get in your face th...

You can't convert it into the language of your choice. Try taking some non-trivial pseudocode and converting into Ruby, Erlang, Prolog, Java, Haskell, Befunge. Languages are different. A simple thing like a looping construct has no direct equivalent in Prolog. In Erlang you would solve many problem...

i think hyper-sexuality is generally an observation made based on previous behavior. i mean, it's common for people with traumatic brain injuries to become "hyper-sexual". that is, much more sexual than they were pre injury. other times it happens as a result of mental traumas. in those cases it's n...

this is a really interesting book helping to explain the origins of money: debt used to be a "good" thing it was a way of creating a social bond other people. you gave them something and then they would have to return the favor. they would...

Oh yeah, transexuals are on the cutting edge (sorry, no pun intended). If it was cheap and easy, I'd definitely try it. Why not? I think with advances in genetic engineering in 100 years or so it'll be very common place. Like tattoos now. You'll be able to grow parts that your body will be less like...

I'll read up on Tantra but I'll use an actual book. Not some BS men's mag thanks......... The book "the multi-orgasmic male" is pretty good, uses less esoteric language than most. If I remember correctly, there is talk about doing exercises to strengthen muscles, but I found identifying areas where...

I was looking at those three types and I didn't really identify with any of them... I think maybe I'm mostly a "kinesthetic" thinker. And not just because I do things without thinking! :) Moving around helps me form ideas. Also, I almost always discover more while engaging in the process of doing. L...

If people are so all-fired against the laws that a sovereign State has on the books, then they should become citizens of that State and work to have those laws changed, and not sit comfortably in their mothers' basements posting hate-filled rants against someone else's right to protect himself from...

In my experience people that use JK are usually fishing and are people to be wary of. This wasn't a modest proposal. And most criminals aren't that bright and do go around saying dumb stuff. Terrorist organizations are constantly threatening, that's in part why they're called terrorist due to the ps...
