I think it's outdated the way many health organisations think of ADHD, in the UK at least. IN the NICE guidlines which provides guidance to NHS in the UK and which the NHS is supposed to follow, it states that psychiatrists can diagnose ADHD in adulthood, even if no hyperactivity was evident in chil...

I have trouble analysing my moods from day to day as well. If I'm feeling down one day, it feels like I've always been in this same state. It's quite frustrating because it makes it much harder to work out if a medication is working or if I should go see a doctor. I have problems with concentration....

Has anyone used Concerta or stimulant drugs such as Aderall to treat executive function deficits in adulthood? I got tested for ADHD a while ago and these were recommended as a possible treatment, although I did not receive the diagnosis as I did not present ADHD symptoms in childhood.

Funny, I never thought of it as a comedy at all. It's far too surreal for that. Maybe elements that seem comedic to some where put there to soften it up for TV. I think it's fairly typical of Lynch's films actually like Lost Highway and Blue Velvet. Twin Peaks wasn't bad but I lost track mid way thr...

I think Sartre's 'Hell is other people' (or whichever translation you prefer) should be rewritten as 'Hell is the wrong kind of people'. People are the solution - and the problem. Being bullied at school is due to other people. However, getting water through my taps and being able to turn the light...

I have problems recollecting anything pretty much everything I've read or watched.

I also have problems reading and keeping track of lines, especially I move to a next line. Also quite often letters seem to disappear or I have difficulty forming them into meaningful shapes.

"From now on, nothing goes down unless I'm involved. No blackjack no dope deals, no nothing. A nickel bag gets sold in the park, I want in. You guys got fat while everybody starved on the street. Now it's my turn."

A quote from "King of New York" I've always liked.

I seem to remember that the threads you start are really long. I have trouble reading more than 2-3 short paragraphs because my attention span is terrible so I generally avoid long threads. Also, I have problems building a picture of people who share the same avatar with other members, as you do, as...

It is the curse of being heavily introverted that you really dislike small talk and other superficial things. Thus, we think very rationally and we want to obtain intellectual bonds rather then the skin deep emotional bonds. However, this cause us a problem since most people desire emotional bond f...

I use Equasym xl 40mg and I used to have 10mg Ritalin as well but I don't have the Ritalin anymore. The equasym helps me focus throughout the day because it's a modified release stimulant. But the main thing for me is, it helps me function as an adult. When I don't take it everything goes west. I'v...

Thanks, yeah I'm from the UK. Your GP will probably not prescribe you ritalin without an ADHD diagnosis from a specialist. It actually isn't even licensed in the UK for treating ADHD in adults, but they can still prescribe it if you give them enough reasons to. Pisses me off how far behind the NHS ...
