Authorised King James for me. I can see the point of the modernised ones but they always feel dummied down to me, like reading a modern English version of Shakespeare, you lose a lot of the poetry. I'm secular anyway so I don't read it for moral guidance or any other religious reasons. The reasons ...

Sometimes I feel like I'm just politically ignorant. :? Well, I wonder if there's anybody in the world who isn't politically ignorant? It's a very subjective matter. Whoever gets to decide what things we're not supposed to say must be winging it to a degree. I asked around about why some comment or...

I'm not always PC, but I don't feel guilty about it. I think there's too much PC these days and it gets cumbersome. Sometimes I just don't expect anybody will be offended because I'm not au fait with all the latest words and opinions that have been deemed taboo, other times I think there's a risk th...

I don't know, I've seen plenty of autistic people who don't see through nonsense any better than NTs. That is definitely the case sometimes I have noticed that the Autistic people whom I have encountered who can't see through the nonsense are not deep thinkers. They tend to be more shallow. But the...

In my case I did science as a career so I soon learned about skepticism and critical thinking. I think my study of the manipulative techniques used by the media and marketers probably happened because of the interest I had in left-wing politics. There are strands of ASD underlying the reasons why I ...

I don't think about it much usually. I don't really know if I'm a burden or not. It's all very subjective. I give and I receive but I don't know if the values balance. There doesn't seem to be anything wildly out of balance one way or the other. I worked long enough to earn the full state pension. T...

One of these days I'm gonna get a great big bag of cinder toffee and I'll sit by myself and eat it The dentist says if I eat toffee it'll pull my implants out. Mind you he also says gum will do the same but I disobey him because I'm a nicotine addict. I'm just careful not to chew on the side that's...

As long as you don't use sugar and you put the milk in first you could save yourself about 5 seconds a cup if you didn't bother stirring. And you wouldn't get the spoon dirty so that's another bonus.

On the other hand ritual is psychologically important to humans, and Aspies don't like change.

What do you hate the most about having autism/aspergers ? I don't think any one thing stands out in my case. Different ASD traits affect me differently depending on the circumstances. And I don't know enough about how NTs feel and cope with the challenges of the world, so it's hard to compare mysel...

Well I'm glad they didn't drive you away. I remember somebody being nasty to you about talking about The Kinks, and I thought that was tacky of them, but one or two of us spoke up a bit in your defense, so it probably wasn't that. I was thinking of leaving a while back when one or two people were sa...

Ah but your ex would recognise you unless it had always been a very estranged, remote relationship, or you'd been unusually shy about removing your glasses etc. in front of her. Well, I don't wear glasses. I see. That renders Funeral's advice useless to you, unless you start taking it now and use i...

I've never had one but I've seen them in Walmart. I don't mind what shape they mould it into as long as it fits between the toast and the egg.

Do they still do those Dairylea cheese spread triangles wrapped in foil?
