WOW!! !! OMG!! !! I just realized something. When I was looking at the videos on what it is like to be autistic it was late at night and I was in my bed with my laptop with my dim night table light on. My laptop screen is not particularly bright. I like it on a slightly dimmer setting. Today I went ...

[quote=" http://www.autismems.net/57801/82012.html <-- That link talks about autistic meltdowns.[/quote] I looked at this link and it's good. I sent it to one of my relatives to help them understand a little more about meltdowns. I will say this about it though, I think it is hard to make blanket st...

I also recently bought a long hose water shower head with a button that you can press to stop the water flow and start it back up without changing the temperature or by turning the water on and off from the tap. I bought it to help keep the bill down so I could take navy showers, only running the wa...

I also keep baby wipes around and always use them when I use the toilet. That way even if I miss my shower that day I know that at least that area is clean. They even now have some that you can flush but I prefer to use the regular ones and I toss them in a plastic bag and tie up the bag and put tha...

If showering is a challenge you could also set up a very special treat like a special piece of chocolate or something that you love or if you have a stuffed toy you like to touch and only allow yourself to have it or touch it after you have taken a shower. It can be your special apres shower treat r...

So, part of our daily routine in our household is that my son and daughter have a bath after dinner, every night, before bed. This has been his routine for 6 years - should I not then assume that he will do this on his own when he is older - a teenager? If he is comfortable in this routine and not ...

Do you think it would help to just try touching them or rubbing them lightly with your tongue instead? I think if you did that you would feel that they are still very well attached and it would not hurt. You could also do that very discreetly and you could do it all day long and it would be very nat...

Skibum, this is what I find hard to answer. Every other time I have ever had a crush, I have always acted stalkerish and creepy because I don't know how to function correctly and talk to women normally. Well, not all, but some. But this girl...She isn't all that attractive to me, and yet I feel a s...

For me it can vary. I could most relate to the sensory overload video and picture. That is why, especially if my energy is low, I have a really hard time in the city. The noises really bother me and lights can bother me too especially night driving on the highway and when people's lights are really ...

It's actually funny because now my smile is what I get complimented on the most and it is very easy for me to smile and I smile almost all the time. People say I have a gorgeous smile and a very encouraging one. So I don't know what made me change from then to now. But I am grateful that it is natur...

I have a very good description of what I go through on this thread: Melt downs: causes/downsides/"symptoms" etc Feel free to take a look. I did not copy and paste my post for ...
