They'll probably put him in some sort of segregation while in prison. At least at first. Protective custody alone can be pretty hard on people though, he'll likely ask to be transferred out at point. He sent his "condolences" to the Floyd family. I'd be curious to know if he is actually r...

Legally, no human has any right to use the body of another human for any length of time, no matter how long or short.

The question is, when does one human's need for survival usurp the right of another human's right to bodily autonomy? The loss of bodily autonomy is only partial, and of a temporary duration. Not something that can be said about the harm inflicted on the foetus by abortion. That's the inherent prob...

It reminds me of how rue used to be a symbol of regret... It's still a synonym. Definitely makes sense. I love deep-diving into word origins like that, or the potential effects of how words being related might impact how people think about the related factors. Like another example would be to consi...

No sex ed + no contraceptives + no abortions was an adaptation to a world where an average woman had to have 5 children to ensure survival of human populations. That was the medieval reality. Not entirely though. Non-surgical terminations have existed as long as medicine has even if documentation i...

Yes, the actual philosophical question is: when does a fetus become a human? It doesn't, it's always human, it's a human foetus. It's a human from the moment the two cells fuse to form the 1st cell of the new human. It's not a sheep, or a pig, or a brick, or a rocket engine, it's a human. Foetus is...

Seems reasonable. It's not like making Chauvin suffer unreasonably would contribute to making things right although obviously he needs to be made to take responsibility for his actions. Making it easier to hold cops accountable for violent crimes committed while on duty is how the system itself need...

Well the female characters in Sex and the City are also sexualized and that show had a huge female audience fanbase, so is sexualizing the characters sexist, if women like the show? It's largely delivered from a female perspective to a female audience though, right? Clearly they handle the issue in...

Even in the worst case scenario it's not likely to be Subway's fault. They buy cans of what is sold as tuna, if someone's substituting something that it's tuna it's at the cannery. I don't eat at Subway but this wouldn't impact my choice.

I'm familiar with the process, I went to a Catholic school that had no problem with letting kids do anti-abortion speeches that involved holding up all sorts of gory pictures to traumatize the rest of the class into not questioning their indoctrination. Doing that topic guaranteed that you'd be sel...
