In the USA, a private university can expel a student for almost any reason. Particularly if that reason is mentioned somewhere in a document that the student has signed an agreement to abide by. At BYU for example, it has been standard practice to expel any student charged with rape. The very same d...

I don't mean to belittle the struggles of people who feel that they have the wrong 23rd pair of chromosomes. I'm not going to tell people that they can't live the way they want to live. It's a psychological disorder, potentially with biological triggers, that is probably always going to come with s...

There are many transgender serial killers/sociopaths. One could generalize that all transgender people are potential sociopaths, and therefore, should not be protected because they are a danger to society. "Silence of the lambs" was a movie. And yeah as was said - extraordinary claims req...

*shrug* any time someone decides that they are God's special people, there is a risk that they will decide that means they can do sh***y things with impunity. I've seen the mormon church pay members mortgages when they get laid off, pay for member's psychotherapy that they can't otherwise afford, fe...

Mormons often take pretty good care of each other for no other reason than a sense of duty.

And often don't give a crap about people who aren't mormons.

Not going to church gives me the freedom of not having to make up my mind about this sort of thing. It is a good thing that faith can be had outside of the institution called church, no matter what you believe. I find it strange that some people feel that they need to be in some congregation to &qu...

It's so strange to me that folks who oppose civil rights for LGBT people immediately jump to the "slippery slope" argument of "what's next, rights for pedophiles and people into bestiality?" As others have pointed out well here, the ability to give consent is the dividing line: ...

I am confused about something. Those stories that Carson stabbed a friend, and attacked his mom with a hammer. Those stories about him are NOT considered attacks on Carson. Its the accusation that those stories may not be true that are considered attacks on him. Is that correct? Those stories are i...

The church presidency has released a clarification that they meant primary custodial parent. https://www.lds.org/pages/church-handbook-changes?lang=eng Which is slightly less monstrous. From where i sit, i don't see what prevented them from using the words "primary custodial" in the handbo...

I was raised mormon, live in utah, and a majority of people i actually know are mormon or have been a mormon at some point in their life. Most of the people i know - their reactions range from having difficulty accepting it or visibly having a hard time rationalizing it, to just being flat out disgu...

Carson strikes me as more medicated, makes me wonder about that whole attempted stabbing and attacking his mother with a hammer. He might of had a brilliant career as a neurosurgeon but that doesn't make him competent to lead the country, he's a crackpot. Yeah nobody seems to be able to corroborate...

I know you've all been wondering that.

There's no way he hasn't been here.

I bet we could identify his username by comparing his policy positions with PPR postings.

^ ANY criticism of Obama and not voting for him was billed as racism by the left back then. No, voting against Obama for racist reasons (that he's really a Kenyan with a fake birth certificate, for instance) was "billed as racism by the left." Not the way I remember it. It was considered ...
