Logic/higher thinking tells us that things like curses, spirits, etc. don't exist because they defy the laws of physics/reality. But our survival instincts tell us to believe in them, because not being wary of them supposedly makes us vulnerable. That's how I view the subject. To compromise, I try t...

One time in 5th grade (I think) while I was eating an open-faced peanut butter sandwich for lunch, another kid picked on me for having too much peanut butter on it. He shouted from another table: "Hey (my name), you like having peanut butter smeared on there?" I was a lot more confused tha...

I still have a white teddy bear with a bow tie. It also has beads in its hands and feet that I used to squeeze. My cousin had a similar-looking one that was red; we called mine "wh***y" and his "Reddy" when we played with them together.

I was always getting in trouble in Elementary School. I had problems with hitting/throwing things at other kids and not doing my work; I remember we got these packets of things to do each week, and I would often fall behind and have to do them at home. Then I started to hide them in my desk so I wou...

Milk chocolate has always been and will always be one of my favorites. White is good too, but it gets overpowering very quickly. Dark I just hate.

When I'm eating food in a bowl with a spoon, I hate touching the bottom of the bowl with the spoon. Oftentimes, a small portion of the food doesn't get eaten as a result, which makes my dad angry. There are other examples of course, but they're difficult for me to explain. Whenever something of this...

kraftiekortie, When people say college is better than high school, aren't they usually talking about the social aspects? I'm not concerned about that. And I've actually been enjoying these past couple years of high school. Obviously there's been stress here and there, but as a whole it's been pretty...

In my 6th hour at school today, the college adviser came in and showed us a slideshow about paying for college. She talked about the things you'd expect; loans, grants, scholarships, choosing colleges, etc. I tried to absorb as much as I could since I knew it was important, but it was hard because I...

Oftentimes, not long before my alarm goes off, my bed inexplicably feels softer and warmer than when I got in. It's rather inconvenient that this happens right before I have to leave; even though I purposefully keep my alarm clock at the other side of my room so I have to get up, I still find myself...

When I get my own food, I eat very light. I usually have three small-ish things of different food groups and a beverage. I'm at a good weight and I'm never still hungry after eating. But my mom and dad are always worried that I don't eat enough. Sometimes when my mom is home, she refuses to let me g...

Dragnet,

You seem like you're mad at me. I'm sorry if I used the term OCD too lightly. I understand that it's a terrible thing to live with. I just wanted a point of reference from others so I could determine whether or not I have a serious problem like you do. Please forgive me.

Often, when I'm reading any kind of text, I have to go through it more than once to truly absorb it. This is especially common for me with books and stories. Even when I'm not looking at the words, I tend to go through the story in my head to try and make sure I completely understand it. But it goes...

When I'm at school and I see a classmate for the first time that day, I like to silently greet them without actually saying anything. I think to myself: "Hi so-and-so. You look nice today." Or: "Hello person. Are those clothes new?" But of course I never speak to them out loud if...

I remember one time when my mom made me watch a video about a guy who went from being depressed to being a motivational speaker, or something along those lines. It just made me angry. People need to drop the notion that showing a miserable person what success looks like will help them. In my experie...
