Our pediatrician has diagnosed our 6 yr old daughter with ADHD and we are about to start on a course of Ritalin to address her ADHD issues. I have researched the side-effects of Ritalin and I am really confused at the different viewpoints from both scientists and parents on the long term side-effect...

There are so many "psychics" out there that debunking them would take a long time. Besides which, truth and rational enquiry seldom get as much press attention as good PR; if he *was* debunked, we may never hear of it. I picked Edwards specifically because of the multi-millions he has made from peo...

Call me extreme, but I would go as far as to say that the universities should not only report Muslims students vulnerable to terrorism, but also, all other religious and non-religious students vulnerable to terrorism. I understand that this may be controversial, but based on the headline, people wo...

He swore that no matter if he closed his eyes or opened them he saw the image "3C" in his visual field then moments later he said he saw a "work desk" in the periphery of his vision (not directly in front of him but to the side). He just kept saying "something is trying to tell me something and I j...

Hallucinogens have been implicated in chromosomal fragmentation and induced paranoia, schizophrenia, and other psychoses.. Yes I recall posting this about cannabis as well. The chap is correct though, the long term deleterious effects only apply to people who are predisposed to schizotypes or schiz...

I'm not sure they have too much to be worried about - if they have nothing to hide. Wikileaks just revealed 6 Australians of interest to the US government over international security threats and 4 of them are women. Under the current climate it's only fair given universities are recruiting grounds f...

I'm going to bite the bullet and put my daughter in social skills classes. Been putting it off but she doesn't seem to be making friends at school.

I'd like to point out that a true psychic would be able to avoid the NSA/CIA, or more likely end up running them. Interesting point, perhaps they already do? I'd also like to point out that you could only be aware of the existence of true psychics if they have failed to avoid scrutiny, which rather...

Quite natural if you aren't a member of Societies "in-group" that you seek your own identity.

Agree with most of what's been posted here. The long term effects I posted are obviously generic, but there is a reasonable chance of ticking off a couple of side-effects when ganja is your friend. My point is make informed decisions before puffing a joint. In addition don't trust suppliers you don...

Hi All.. My daughter is 6 yrs old with HFA. Lately, (past 4 months) we have noticed that her speech increased drastically compared to 6 months ago. She started using sentences and answering why questions. Although this is very good and we are happy with what she is managing, there is still a long w...

It's very likely she assumed the OP was sitting in that seat to be next to her which would explain the random boyfriend comment immediately thereafter. I've sensed women are usually assuming this in various other instances such as using cardio equipment right next to them at the gym. This thread is...

THC* (Tetrahydrocannabinol) Already fixed my typo a micro-second after your post -vaporizers have no tar and little to no carcinogens, so respiratory problems are not synonymous with smoking weed. Probably applies to joints more than bongs -Amotivational syndrome is nothing but a hypothesis that ge...

Actually, there is plenty of evidence to disprove it. All psychic ability seems to vanish under test conditions, with psychics producing results no different from guesswork. I admit this doesn't prove there are NO psychics, but I've never seen a unicorn either. Does that mean unicorns exist? A true...
