Eventually it will either be your problem or you will die young. ruveyn So what? It is still BS to think that being old is an excuse for being sexist. It is not. If when I am too old I am too pro-human and discriminate about my grand daughter's robot boyfriend, so be it. I hope I get called out on ...

I used to. Now I think that living only for career opportunity and dreams is a recipe for disaster or deep depression. I used to have this intense dream of making it as a fiction writer, spent all my off hours from work - evenings, weekends, vacation time - pursuing it, for about 20 years all told. ...

The Christmas tree confused my cat Portia one year - she weed under it, evidently thinking she was out in the garden lol :) The whole season, and especially decorations, can be confusing for them. I don't like to dangle things that look like toys but which they're not allowed to play with. It just ...

It's impossible to ignore the commercial aspects, though I do my best. It's always a shock to walk into stores when the decorations are first out, and I sort of bah humbug the whole thing when I see that (silently to myself). To me it's not so much a Christian or religious thing, or even an extended...

It annoys me no end when people screw up nested quotes so that it appears I said something I didn't. I believe this is what your post should have looked like: I'm an atheist but I find universal reconciliation to be interesting. It means that all people will eventually go to heaven regardless of whe...

It probably depends on the size of the organization, whether all applications/resumes you submit get filtered through whoever decided against you, and a lot of other things. I once completely blanked - froze up in an interview. I was later hired for another job in the same organization, by another m...

If a state wanted to succeed then why shouldn't they? We encourage self determination overseas, why not at home? If a state cannot freely leave the union then it is slavery. You know what? You're the person I've noticed I always agree with, out of everybody. High five! It seems we're on a roll righ...

I'm an atheist but I find universal reconciliation to be interesting. It means that all people will eventually go to heaven regardless of whether or not they believed in Jesus Christ. Sinners will go to hell but not for eternity. Universal reconciliation was believed in by the majority of Christian...

You're absolutely right, there is an abundance of sexism towards men today in the media and from women. It's repulsive that women think of this "as a joke" yet any sexist joke towards them, or any sexist act and the man "is considered a pig and is heavily criticized. This hypocrisy is very prevalen...

I had never heard of that series, but your post prompted me to look them up on Amazon. They look beautiful and instructive. I especially like their use of images. The choice of textbooks by schools is something that has always puzzled me. I love well-designed books.
