... What I have experienced with a gluten and casein free diet in the past and now is nothing short of a miracle in my opinion. You may find it offensive, but medical science does not, can not and should not accept testimonials as basis for treatments or theories. If it helps you, that is good. Tho...

I'm a little mixed on this one. While I support freedom of expression, I really don't need to see an animal being slaughtered. And I think your comparison is a bit of a stretch -- Aspies trying to be NT's is like animals at the slaughter? I'm glad it was removed, but if it does return a nice little ...

The wierd thing is that in more 'major' situations, like emergencies where non-spectrum people panic, I tend to be quite calm - so am often the one to help out during a crisis. So for me, at least, there is a positive side. I am quite the same way, which is another reason I'm thinking I'm Aspie. Th...

If I were to cut gluten and cassein out of my diet, I'd not have much to eat at all. Sorry, I'd rather have a few of my symptoms than live a life eating food I don't particularly like. That would make me even more depressed. I like eating too much. Actually, you'd be amazed at the variety of foods ...

Does this sound familiar to anyone? I served some frozen blueberries to my younger son (21 months) -- he loves chomping on frozen blueberries. I asked my older son (we'll call him B -- 6-year-old Aspie) if he would like some blueberries too because he LOVES eating frozen blueberries. "Yes," he says....

I was a "blue baby" (their words, not mine). I sometimes suspect it influenced my AS. That's what our son was. That particular blue is the most ghastly blue in the world. And then when his little body pinked up after his heart started going again, it was one of the most amazing things I'll ever see...

But he has extreme attentional problems, as in, he gets distracted when having a serious conversation with him and he just goes totally off topic. So it's possible that he might get the ADHD diagnosis when he sees the specialist in a couple of months. He has some executive function issues, and he's...

I don't think that all autistic or AS people have had a birth trauma, though. There is no evidence of it in many cases of autism, and the fact that the parents of autistic children very often show prominent autistic-like traits seems to be more in favor of the genetic theory. I definitely didn't th...

I notice especially that single moms seem to like to keep their AS sons dependant so that he will continue to live with her after he graduates high school. So partly it is some parents fault and it is quite sick. It's still hard for me to grasp that there is someone this astoundingly compassionless...
