God doesn't tell us anything. A man-made book does. Okay, a man-made book that pertains to a pervasive view of God that this thread was almost certainly referring to in the first place. Happy now? It never fails. Make any sort of passing comment about faith, spirituality, or religion on any thread ...

I've never understood why some people feel threatened by the idea of evolution. I mean, the Bible says plenty of things that no Fundamentalist Christian thinks are literally true, like the earth being flat etc. Evolution is not "just a theory" (or rather, it is a theory in the same manner that conti...

Yep. No one had ever pointed out to me that I may have AS. I only heard of it when I happened to come across the Wikipedia article (cross-referenced from something else), but the descriptions of it made perfect sense, and I tested pretty highly on the non-diagnostic tests. Before, I was pretty obses...

To revise the idea a bit: I think the best advice to give anyone in learning social skills is to cast aside their self-consciousness.

I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that humans were originally intended (by evolution, design, or however you want to put it) to be "tribal" creatures assosciating with a select few. That way, the individual felt important, and could do something that would make a difference. Feeling this w...

Anyone ever wonder where existentualism started? It's right there in Ecclesiastes, the most optomistic book of the Bible.

Generally, I am apolitical, but if I had to pigeonhold myself anywhere, I would say that I am a moderate liberal. If push came to shove, I would vote Democrat, though I despise both parties.

For those of you who believe in a god, especially a more traditional Christian/Judaic view of a god, please give your reasons as to why this god is: 1. All-Perfect 2. All-Knowing 3. All-Loving If you do not believe God is all or any of these, please, also, give your reasons why. I am curious. PS- P...

I had my first date when I was 21. It was with a girl I met online. I walked a few miles to the place she was staying at, bought her tickets for a Nile concert, bought her food, coffee, and cigarettes, and let her wear my jacket because she didn't have hers. She slept through most of the concert and...

It's easy to find someone rife with traits you don't have, admire them, and feel what might be called 'attraction', but I say that the really question is whether or not you can hold on your own in ATTAINING a relationship with such a person. I say no. Opposites attract at first, but repell soon afte...

Why do women want cocky, arrogant guys? Because women are needy, insecure, and shallow, and traditional societal limitations forgive them for these traits while chastising men for exhibiting them. 90% of all women suck and aren't worth your time. Seriously. I'm hope I'm saving some of you the troubl...
