I don't dislike them, but I don't get all gaga over them, either, and I definitely don't coo at them or use baby talk, because that just isn't natural for me!

I've wondered about Ramona Quimby, the children's book character. I remember loving those books as a kid and really being able to relate to her, because it seemed like she was always doing or saying something that got her in trouble, but she often didn't understand why. She also had a tendency to ta...

I'm the same way. I have the hardest time being on time. Not that I'm ever REALLY late, but I'm always running in at the last minute, or 5 or so minutes late. I'll often just be absorbed in whatever I'm doing, and think, "oh, I'll be able to get ready on time", but then it takes longer tha...

Yes, especially at ages 6-7. I would barely speak to anyone other than my family and the couple friends that I had. I came out of my shell a bit after that, but I still was overall shy.

Did you get a lot of ear infections as a child? I was wondering, because I've read that ear infections seem to be more common in children with ASD. I had them constantly starting when I was an infant. It seems like I usually got at least 2 or 3 infections every winter. They finally decided to put tu...

Yes!! I always mess up boxes when I try to open them. And also trying to pull foil or cling wrap off of a roll. I completely mess the whole roll up. :|

I'm not completely sure if I'm on the spectrum (but feel like I have a lot of signs) but I can safely say that I do stuff like that ALL the time! Taking what people say literally/seriously and I don't realize it's a joke/sarcasm until people start laughing.

While I can't say for certain whether or not I'm on the spectrum (I have talked to a psychologist who specializes in ASD, and she believes it's a possibility, but I haven't officially been tested/diagnosed), I can certainly relate to people on the spectrum who struggle with finding a suitable job/ca...

I like the ones at Disney parks, since they're not as extreme as the ones at places like Six Flags, plus somehow the theming on Disney rides makes it a little less intimidating. I definitely won't ride anything too extreme though. I'm afraid of heights and I don't find it fun to feel like I'm fallin...

I do, and I'm okay with just driving around town/in familiar places. But driving in unfamiliar places and on interstates definitely gives me a lot of anxiety and I avoid it. I have poor spacial awareness (especially at night...the lights on cars just seem to blind me and I can never tell how close o...

Do you struggle with motor skills? And if so, does one seem to be more of a struggle than the other? I feel like my fine motor skills are awful, but I seem to have better gross ones. I just have trouble with anything that requires any kind of coordinated movement with my hands. I still struggle with...

I pretty much never initiated play with other children. I'd play alone, but if another child just came up to me and wanted to play, I went along with it.

I hate it, because I'm basically right on the eastern edge of the central time zone (in the US). So when we set the clocks back in the fall, we get the shortest days. The sun starts setting before 5! And by 5 it's completely dark. I hate it getting dark so early and it makes me feel more depressed.

Yes, I can really relate. Ever since my preteens/early teens, I've really never felt my age. When I was in middle and high school, I typically had more in common with kids who were 2-3 years younger than me than with kids my own age. I did manage to find a few friends my own age who just happened to...
