An introverted NT would still be NT; able to read body language, unlikely to have obsessions, would likely get subtlety. An NT introvert is simply a person who shares my love for quiet and solitude. It's really that simple. From reading "introvert" forums some feel chronically embarrassed when in s... |

http://www.metacafe.com/watch/152278/social_attribution_task/ I think this would cover social imaginations aka "Theory of Mind." Someone commented ( seems to be withdrawn now) that the little round shape was a dog. That's incorrect because a dog couldn't close a door........ a missed nuance.......(m... |

If you're not facing any "issues," then, by definition, you do not have AS. I'm diagnosed, i've never had any issues. I faced issues of social anxiety after diagnosis because social workers kept telling me I was socially disabled and have only recently, years later overcome it for the most part. Th... |

Sorry to tell you this, but you will never become neurotypical. Temple Grandin is NOT neurotypical either. She is a well adapted autistic person. Autism is a neurological difference and is life long. Yes. She had a nice enviroment and had intensive early training. She's also cognitively gifted. She... |

I'd argue that thinking on this individual higher level is an inborn talent or in their nature. This is something that begins very early and is independent of nurture. It happens in the worst of circumstances. Someone talented in anything begins at an early age, such as drawing or playing an instrum... |

Hello there! My screen name is SoftKitty and I am totally new here. I´ve recently found out that I might have Aspergers, but I am not sure, so I am now waiting to be tested. The problem is that I am in a long line of clients, and will/won´t be diagnosed only after 10 months (!). That´s a horribly l... |

I have it pinned down to Asperger's Syndrome. What I do not have is the scale or magnitude of it, and that is bothersome. Anecdotes on the board show me the severity of it and in many cases it's not even a disorder but a complete disability e.g., unemployment, self care, sensory overloads, etc......... |

As was mentioned in detail , there is an assumption that others' have the same level of ethics as "I do." But from what I've seen typical kids have this or believe in this. Sooner or later they will do what they see others' are doing and copy their environment. Typical. I always had a resistance to ... |

Imagine you are in social setting, sitting, and a girl walks up to you and asks: "Do I know you?" I said: No, I don't think so. |
