I have not used the word mild or such in disclosing to NTs. It would sound to much like I'm ashamed of ASD. I will just use the phase "on the spectrum" if I'm not sure they will understand that "autistic" now means the same thing us and knowledgeable NTs. I have used mild to desc... |

"you got that autism stuff?" Like it's a rash! Maybe we can find some lotion to treat it :lol:. Sounds like they will need some education on ASD. I don't think all my family has heard about it but plan to disclose to most of them when I see them. I think it has been positive with the ones... |

I also love the sound of sailboat masts when they clang in the wind. Flagpoles too. I like the clang of the sailboat masts also. Unless it's the mast of of boat you're sleeping on, or one very close by, then it's a problem to be fixed :roll:. However my favorite sailboat sound is the sound of water... |

I think I have gotten more sensitive with my banter with experience and age (less testosterone poisoned brain maybe). Welcome back to WP, although I'm still a newbie here. Going away to college was great for me. My first year was tough but you may have a better personality to make it easier. You should start a "surviving freshman year college away" thread and tap our wisdom. |

Reading speed is the biggest problem for me too. I have a large vocabulary but often have the same spelling problem. It can look wrong but I don't know how to correct the spelling.
