I don't know about it being inactive but I think it's been lovely and peaceful lately Cemeteries are also peaceful. Assuming they're not haunted. If WP got haunted, who would haunt it? Would it be someone I know, or someone from way back when the site was first formed who I've never even heard of?

...I am so not going to read this thing through, especially since the topic started well over ten years ago, but I still came to add my two cents about writing social interaction. I've been writing fanfiction and publishing it in the internet since around the time this topic was created, and while I...

The same old pattern over the years. Activatists destroy things so someone has to make things again and this creates more polution Huh, I never thought of it like that, but you're right. What they should destroy is people's will to use those things they'd like to destroy, not damage the property it...

I finished the next chapter of my novel. Quite a bit later in the day (well, more like night) than I intended, but I got it done today, so I decided to not be too hard on myself and count it as staying on schedule.

I was going through different possibilities of studies in both vocational and higher education, mostly out of curiosity but also a little bit with the thought of what I could possibly do in the future, and I was amazed by how clearly everything about the courses of different fields in the local univ...

I would, but if everyone else lost it too it would make dealing with the loss easier since I'd feel like I didn't miss anything others won't. It would, however, make life a lot harder as lots of official stuff is handled online around here, including paying the bills. Not that I don't know how to ge...

Sure, but it's difficult because how can you expect the forum moderators to know whether everything that people say is a lie or the truth? Every day around the world, millions of normal people accuse truthful people of spreading lies, and vice-versa. Often it takes a long time to research something...

people shouldn't be allowed to spread lies like "All women are X", "Most women are Y" Most women live on average approx 5 years longer than men. This is a proven scientific fact backed by robust statistical data. It's not discriminatory or prejudicial to say this. I said "l...

I also have a personal rule to not post on the L&D section anymore. ... as a woman I just don't feel safe using that part of the forum. I understand and agree with you, but I'd like to point out that there also exists men who don't feel safe around women, because of the number of women who tell...

Missionaries need a visa to enter into other countries right? I'd say it's up to other countries (such as Brazil) to stop issuing religious visas.

If they did that then it would already be illegal for the missionaries to arrive.

Good idea, but what about missionaries from within the country?

As far as "without telling them" part, I would say don't tell them before experiment, but tell them after its over. Yes, I know that telling them would affect the results, so if I wanted to do it, that wouldn't make sense. But I feel like telling them afterwards isn't a good idea either s...

NTs have a choice. Do they want us to listen to them or make eye contact with them? Because it seems they only want us to really do the first one. To me it seems more like that they (well, some of them) just can't understand that not everyone can maintain eye contact and listen at the same time, ev...

In the meantime, the West has done a lot of development towards high-precision weapons and highly effective tactics, which Russia has not. What stopped Russia from doing it? When it comes to high precision weapons, they did some but they rely on Western electronics, so sanctions effectively limit t...

Maybe not banned, but it should be made sure that they take no as an answer? *knock knock* *door opens* "Are you interested in our lord and savior Super Man?" "No" "Okay, have a nice day!" *the missionary leaves, no harm done* If it always went like this when no one was...

Usually it means literal lack of eye contact, but I suppose it could also mean wrong kind of eye contact. As in, looking too long (staring) or too short of a time or something. But yeah, if you're in a group of strangers and want those strangers to approach you, then I could see how turning your eye...
