The only dietary issues we have are lactose intolerance and an issue with excessive quantities of orange. I only limit oranges and milk, He handles bacteria digested dairy like cheese and yogurt just fine. I have not tried anything else b/c frankly his diet is pretty limited (although improving) an...

This place isn't for everyone. I have a feeling I'm a bit of an outsider myself here because the general attitude here is "you're different, deal with it" but I want to learn to work around my differences. Not everyone with AS feels like they're one of the community. In fact, I barely feel that way...

Just curious: have any parents of children on the spectrum tried any special diets for their children- examples being the GAPS diet, gluten free/casein free, Paleolithic/Primal diet, low carbohydrate diet, or other? If so, has this helped? Let me know...... I am an adult, most-likely-Aspie female, a...

There was a time when AS and Wrong Planet were my special interests, so I posted obsessively. Now, I feel like I've gleaned as much information as I could about AS, and have a new interest. The majority of my free time tends to go towards whatever the special interest of the moment is; I'm sure many...

Oh, my special interest is food right now, ha ha- (well, low carb and Paleo type diets, to be exact). I think because this type of diet has really helped me. But, yeah, I've gone through all kinds of things with food. When I was a child, my mother always complained that I was a very picky eater. I a...

I was just curious if anyone here on WP who's on the spectrum (can be diagnosed or undiagnosed) has tried either the GAPS diet, Paleo (Hunter-Gatherers diet) and/or Low Carb diet? If so, did it have any kind of effect? Let me know your experiences- I'm curious!

Here's another test--unlike the Mind in the Eyes test, the multiple choices you have to pick from don't change throughout the test: http://www.neurodiversity.com/nvc/index.html Oh, this test was really hard for me. Except for a few obvious ones like "happy" and "sad", I find myself looking at the f...

I wonder if it would be more sensitive if they flashed the pictures by quickly instead of letting you take as long as you want? This would be much more like real life. Even better if they also didn't make it multiple choice! I have a system for multiple choice tests: there's usually one answer that...

The first time I did this "mind in the eye" test, it was very hard for me. Aside from a few obvious ones, most of the expressions looked just neutral to me. But I plowed through, and found analytical ways to guess the answers- (analytical guessing is different from actually knowing what you're seein...

I'm like the OP, I don't like cold at all, and function much better in warm weather. When it's cold out, I get in "hibernation mode"; I just want to be alone *all* the time, and only want to study my special interests; it's hard to find energy for anything else. It's much harder to be out and about,...

Hi- I tried to copy and paste my results, but I kind of screwed up. Anyway, I'm just inside the "masculine" part- (my results looked almost exactly like Who_Am_I's picture, right above me). Funny thing is, I'm a woman, and I "feel" relatively feminine too.....but I guess I have different association...

Hmmm, I wonder if fictional reading comprehension examples + discussions might become a regular spot on WP.... I remember reading a passage in a reading comprehension exam at school many decades ago; it was about some guy creeping through a deserted house looking for something in a safe buried unde...

The answer cannot be determined from the information given. this is logical. correlation does not equal causation. for all we know it was a younger son who rebelled because he didn't want a church career and the king killed him himself with no regrets. it's happened before. the biblical Absalom com...

I have certain routines which I like, or maybe they are necessary to me, and I don't like these being broken. However, in regards to other things, I like change. Basically, there are 2 different sets of routines: my own routines, which I do because I like them, or they comfort me, or whatever......a...

As other people have mentioned, it sounds like your special interest at the moment is Aspergers. I went through a similar phase; when I first learned about AS, I was obsessed with it, and wanted to talk about it constantly. (This has worn off, as now my special interest is the health effects of low ...
