I consider myself disabled for a variety of reasons : adaptive functioning < IQ , moderate EF deficits(especially organising, planning, and prioritising) , low stress threshold, mobility issues which mean I haven't been outside on my own since October 2021.

A **UK social services carer's assessment** is a free evaluation offered by local councils to determine what support a carer might need. If you regularly care for someone—whether they are ill, elderly, or disabled—you can request this assessment to explore ways to make your life easier. ### What Do...

All I know is that I was having yearly assessments re the Care act 2014. I was getting help from a home care agency, but it proved much cheaper to hire the person from the agency privately , and she got more money than she was getting via the agency. That was OK for a while, but there was an outbrea...

Firstly I apologise re the lack of 'response' reaction. I get so damned insecure at times. Maybe it's just me, but I struggle when it comes to terms like mildly/moderately/severely, or need some support/substantial support. I was at classical autism level for social communication, but repetitive beh...

There's a misunderstanding. Completely my fault. My daughter provides support for me, not vice versa.

The lack of response speaks volumes, and not in a good way. I genuinely struggle when it comes to defining the level of help and support I get.

My daughter has done a carer’s assessment. It’s for the autism related adaptive functioning difficulties, rather than for the mental health related issues. She, in no particular order of importance, sorts my medication, takes me to appointments, deals generally with my physical health related matter...

Diagnostic overshadowing in PTSD and autism: what do we know about trauma in ASD? The majority of people will, at some point, experience a traumatic event, but only 3.9-5.6% will develop a post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD (WHO, 2024). In autistic people, PTSD may be especially pronounced thro...

Does anyone else have difficulty answering questionnaires that want to know how much or how often something applies to you? Quite often there'll be questions I can't give answer to, due to lack of personal experience. Even if I can answer I struggle to decide which answer to circle or tick.

I began bed-wetting again at the age of 8 ,when I started at boarding school. For the 1st two years I wet the bed almost every day.Luckily it stopped before I went to public school. I didn't wet the bed at home, during the school holidays.

I'm left handed. My brother and sister aren't. My parents weren't. I'm way above averagely clumsy.

It seems to me that sometimes perceptions matter more than facts. In such a situation the truth ceases to be of primary importance. Biden, given the political cards on the table, should've withdrawn from the contest much earlier.
