I'm slow cooking a Moroccan style lamb stew type thing with chickpeas and lentils and lots of spices, then you finish it up with egg and rice noodles. It's one of my favourite dishes and I make loads so I get a few meals out of it. Fancy It's really not, you just chuck it all in a slow cooker. It's...

Ideally as tall as you are wide. We like spheres here.

I try games and I'm just bored or disappointed by them. Even big titles that everyone raves about just do nothing for me. Same here, I'm not really into a lot of "big name" games, especially anything released after 2000. I have such a huge backlog of old games, though, it's not really a p...

He was a doorman. They're not famed for their repartee. I suggest you look elsewhere for a polite conversation.

A couple of weeks back I did some mushrooms. So I experienced explosive, painful laughter at stuff that probably wasn't all that funny. That's actually the thing I dislike most about mushroom trips, the stupid laughter.

Do you like autumn?

I am similar. My entire teenage life was about playing videogames, they were pretty much the most important thing in the world to me. But after 20 I just...couldn't any more. I was bored by them. Then, around 30 years I got into Minecraft for a bit, but now, that bores me too. I load it up, I walk a...

A couple of things occur to me which may be relevant. Firstly, immigrants are often 'outsiders' by their very nature. It's much easier to approach and engage someone who is alone than someone who is already in a protective social bubble. Secondly, if you're from a different culture you have a certai...

This probably won't be very comforting, but here's what I've concluded: Important parts of social interaction occurs subconsciously. As someone with ASD, you can learn everything - how and when to smile, how much information to share, what topics to avoid - all of it. But you can't learn the stuff t...

Thanks for the suggestions. I think this is about me trying to work out my own personal method. I more or less 'pantsed' this novel because that's far more interesting to me than plotting it out. But it also seems to be the root of why I'm having so much trouble with it. Pantsing results in a lot mo...

The R mysteries were a series which all began with the letter R. The Rockingdown Mystery, The Rub-a-dub Mystery. Those are the ones I can recall off the top of my head. The characters were Roger, Diana and Snubby who was a gifted mimic. Much like Famous Five really but I remember the stories being a...

What makes me suspicious is that the "She's being manipulated by her parents/whoever" attack line is used by people who either have already chosen not to accept the scientific consensus on human-caused climate change I didn't make that choice or simply don't like her because she's young, ...

I never read Malory Towers or St Claires but I did read the Naughtiest Girl in the school trilogy. The idea of a boarding school always seemed like a nightmare to me though, I never really understood why they liked it. I really liked the 'R' mystery series and the Five Find Outers - although I tried...

Are these old? Like the Famous Five tv programs? Or new ones?

I never read malory towers but I devoured Enid Blyton's mysteries as a kid and I read them to my kid now (skipping over the overtly racist bits!).

So having watched the first three episodes I'm coming down on the "this is rubbish" side of the fence. And no, it's nothing to do with black hobbits or beardless lady dwarves. It's simply that Amazon Studios spent all the money on the visuals. And it looks amazing. But god, it's boring. Ho...
