Yes - when I'm occupied with work or with my friends. With my friends, I forget that I'm autistic because they accept and support me for who I am. I support them too. When I was in secondary school, I used to shut down almost every day and was bullied by some of my classmates for my disabilities. T...

My mum's family is from Hong Kong, so we used to visit Hong Kong yearly since I was a few months old. Hong Kong feels more like a home than Britain. There's something about many of the people in Hong Kong that makes Hong Kong feel more like home. Maybe it's because they tend to be so blunt and stra...

Yes, I like to rock back and forth. It's a soothing sensation for me. I don't rock slowly or quickly but somewhere in between the speeds.

Why is wrong to think that? Having sex and becoming pregnant is not that special. Shaming is a great social tool for society and single mother tend to be bad parents if you look at the stats. Remember respect is not a god giving right but is earned by hard work. How does shaming someone for having ...

Anyone can be racist regardless of their skin colour or ethnic background. There was a black girl at my school who is racist towards Jewish people and another black girl who used to whisper "Chinese" in my ear. I've met a couple of Chinese people who are racist. They called white people &...

Words have certain tastes to me. Some have tastes and some don't. The word "message" tastes of hot sausage rolls and "good" tastes of cold strawberry yogurt. Others only have temperatures. Like "sure". That word creates a cold feeling across the tip of my tongue.

What does "chips on shoulder" mean? I have a mental image of chips on a person's shoulder and I know that it's not right. Sorta when you have certain things that bother you, like stuff associated with past experiences and such...that effect your perceptions on life in general. For instanc...

A learning assistant at my previous school hated me and made my life a misery there because I was able to learn sign language faster (which she was very interested in) and had to correct her a couple of times when she was teaching the wrong signs. She bullied other SEN students like me and would re...

There's an old British superstition where seeing one magpie brings bad luck, and the only way to rid yourself of this bad luck is to salute the magpie. There is a nursery rhyme for it too called "One for Sorrow". It goes like this: One for sorrow, Two for joy, Three for a girl, Four for a...

My first name can be pretty uncomfortable because it's easy to mishear and mispronounce. Even if I use the shortened version of my name it still can be misheard or mispronounced easily. Plus, either version of my name sound foreign to my ears. I never use my Chinese middle name because when people ...
