I agree with Green policy on most things. Ironically their environmental policies are so bad that voting for them is impossible. The Green Party in the UK is against nuclear power and genetic engineering, for example. I take it you're implying that nuclear power is "green" (environmentally sound)? ...

it's not the President's function to enact laws; he can only receive them from congress and either sign them into law or veto them. This is a very limited and unrealistic view of the effective functional capacity of the person in the office of President--his/her role, is, in actuality far more exte...

Um... yikes. Let me clarify briefly why I set up this thread. It wasn't intended as a place for trolls not interested in this subject to spout trite one-liners. It was rather set up for people *interested* in this to contribute in a way that is respectful, productive, and positive. Thanks! Actually,...

Green what? Stein who?

Must be one of those minor political thingies.

A few thoughts:
1) There's a link.
2) There's Google.
3) Why comment on something if you don't understand what it is you're commenting on? I don't understand this impulse.

There is a surprising amount of commentary on libertarian, Aynian (irony intended), greed-based, anti-democracy oriented politics on WP, which I find very puzzling, given the the rep of Aspies for being independent, thoughtful and having a highly developed sense of social justice. With election seas...

AngelRho, I'm keeping this short, not to be flippant, but simply because I have to move onto something else presently, and need to wrap my activity here up for now. I'm just addressing the things that stand out to me. Don't take my comments personally (here or before). I don't so much tend to talk "...

Wow, you present a lot of great info here, Ca2MgFe5Si8O22OH2. gay men score an average of two standard deviations higher on vocabulary tests than anyone else. This strikes me as probably not having to do with the fact that they are gay, per se, but rather because of the fact that their particular di...

...the pro-gay argument pulls a "No True Scotsman"... Pardon my ignorance but would you please explain what "a 'No True Scotsman'" is? I get the kilt allusion, but I've never heard of this identified as some sort of argument strategy along the lines of "red herring", "straw man" etc. What do you me...

"Ex-gay"? Really? Here is what "ex-gay" is: beset and terrified self-loathing religious gay people brainwashed to believe that they are horrible and unacceptable for being gay... so they lead a phony life of marrying and having children, etc. while trying to deceive themselves and convince themselve...

I think yes and no. There are many people who are born gay, that is just who they are. I have seen stories of girls and guys who were sexually abused turning gay. I have seen people do gay stuff for attention, or for pay, or because girls didn't like them. This is nonsense. You have no insight into...

I would say Swedish would be a better choice, unless there is some particular reason why knowing Norwegian would be better for you (going there, interested in something particular that is based in Norway, etc.) 1) Swedish is spoken by more people and has more cultural richness to it (this is the per...

Having an argument with someone is no longer because I consider that person a total pillock, but because I have aspergers and I'm 100% at fault each time without fail. My opinions are no longer valid, because their the output of an autistic mental process and almost by definition therefor erratic. ...

Diagnosed as an adult, which strikes me as being kind of ridiculous because there was so much there: Childhood mutism, no socializing/friend-making; tremendous special interests; very analytical, precise and pedantic in communication; literalism; motor skill issues; etc, etc. I come from a family of...
