A lot of what you describe could easily be attributable to her environment being a little rocky. All kids need routine and structure in order to feel secure and stable and to learn well. If that is lacking, I think it would be understandable if her development is a little behind. In my non-medico v...

If I wear a skirt, it can't be one that constricts the movement of my legs..I frequently sit with my knees tucked up or "indian style"...and I like skirts, but don't like feeling exposed... I am really glad that a lot of womens clothes are made out of rayon and modal and bamboo......moreso now than ...

I help run a performance and arts space, so I perpetually come into contact with artsy weirdo non-conformists...or counter-cultural conformists who are not necc. on the autistic spectrum...They have their own subcultural groups in which they seem to be able to comfortably assimilate....and socialize...

The only flag that has really gone up for me is that she is a very silent and calm baby most of the time. That is how I was....I notice that she will mimic my singing, but won't really ever try to pronounce any words...She will match my tone when I sing to her though....and that is how my grandmothe...

I am in the habit of wearing shapewear because I enjoy the feeling of "compression" and feel sorta naked without it. I like wearing foundation garments that cinch around my midsection,,,I feel like it helps support my posture and keeps me from getting too slouchy......but I like everything else to b...

Growing up, I had some rather notable self-care issues and was still having trouble suitably dressing myself into my High School years. I also had distinct issues with Hygiene that only gradually improved with age. I wound up in my first Long-term-relationship when I was barely 16, and he would occa...

I will not use the term "Aspergers" as pertaining to myself (should it come up for whatever reason)....without adding in the further explanation regarding my "place" on the spectrum...I am much more prone to say that I am "on the spectrum", and that while I was assessed with "Aspergers" it was not t...

Well, here's my take on it. Thinking of the people I know who have autism, I see a group of people who are very diverse. They are anywhere from completely independent and self-supporting since the age of 18, to living at home as adults and needing help every day. The people I know who have Asperger...

I merely skimmed this thread....after responding to the poll..so I am not a part of any debate. I have arguable "autistic" traits on both sides of my family. My dad's family is brimming with architects and engineers and there were some members who had distinct autistic and/or OCD traits, and some wh...

Still no complaints. I just have to remember to keep taking it....I need to keep it right next to my Omegas so that I remember to take those too....Whatever side effects there are, I do not notice. I do notice that I do not cry or have meltdowns as often....and don't panic nearly as often....but I s...

I am back on my Adderall Prozac combo..so I feel balanced again. Prozac alone made me feel really stinking tired all the time, though having less meltdowns is nice.....and running completely out of Adderall was quite uncomfortable unfortunately. I was taking tons of supplements to try to compensate,...
