It's fairly normal in children. For me, I still exhibit symptoms of it, not as much as when I was younger. Used to have vocal tic where I would repeat words.

I've never heard of the multiple the layers within the the layers. I am somewhere in the middle of one. I had moderate speech, writing, and language abilities as a child, still really have language problems, but acquire language much easier than younger. I try to avoid support though; I have often d...

I do not openly identify as autistic, bi, or anything that will greatly influence anyone's opinion of me when I shouldn't. Some days, I have the inability to speak (sometimes I fake losing my voice  ). With most autistics I know IRL, the topic of it rarely comes up. We take the time to describ...

I agree with OP, and will admit I don't think about my mental stuff too much. It's been years, and I'm used to it at this point. With the other autistics I know, we know we are autistic, but we never go beyond shared experiences of things.

I find myself staying up late doing homework or going overtime at work. I dislike vacations, mostly because of familial interactions, and enjoy having a structured day. Ironically I am going into journalism, so there's not much structure, but I hope this makes sense.
Are you a workaholic?

I have meltdowns under extreme stress. Shut downs are more common.
One autistic guy I know had accidentally hit my sister (who at the time had a concussion) and he had a meltdown.

I've consistently had eating problems. Hunger doesn't feel that bad honestly. It's awful though because I struggle to remember to eat.
Still a dexterous person. I exercise in the weekends.

My attractions were normal. I remember my first girlfriend was extremely introverted and sheltered, but fairly normal aside. Since we broke up, she refuses to speak to me. My other two attractions weren't unusual either; I tried asking a high functioning guy from my special ed class out, and he was ...

Animals have many different attitudes to eye contact. If you should happen to be walking through the jungle, and see a tiger tail dangling down (yes, they often forget) DO NOT look up. If you ignore the cat, it may let you pass, but if you lock eyes, it will attack instantly. Horses are not too kee...

I wonder this too. Like with the other autistics I know or if I dated the person, I can make perfect eye contact. But for anyone else, I feel vulnerable and violated. Eyes are like lasers I can't stand. I look at people's mouths most of the time.

I've had numerous chronic tics for years, both of vocal/physical variety. I just say I have Tourettes, I probably shouldn't because of its associations. :( I'm blinking and facial scrunching like every few seconds, which doesn't help my glasses, which fall off as a result. Blinking must have magical...

I went out for lunch with another guy on the spectrum. Since it was just us, and me the stressed person I am, my tics go crazy. I noticed he was copying my tics, and he acknowledges too that it's "contagious" in a way (conversations about disability never go beyond our own experience). So ...

A few autistics come to mind, not me personally. It is very much the one sided conversation most of the time. I reap both benefits of being introverted and extroverted.

I'm right handed, bit only for specific things really. I eat, play piano better, and more weird things better in my left than right.
