Fact remains that it is in the viruses own best interest to not kill its hosts and, so, they are likely to mutate in the direction of being less lethal. No one said mutation is a perfect process. The ironic thing being that under natural evolution, SARS-CoV-2 was slowly gaining severity, with Delta...

If you were already diagnosed with Asperger's, you're automatically folded into ASD going by the DSM-V. Note: Individuals with a well-established DSM-IV diagnosis of autistic disorder, Asperger’s disorder, or pervasive developmental disorder not otherwise specified should be given the diagnosis of a...

Yeah.

It just got merged into ASD with the rest simply because there's no functional difference between it and high-functioning autism.

I could interact with others reasonably well, even if I didn't have a predilection for social interaction (nothing abnormal about being highly introverted). This was a long time ago (18 years; 40ish now), I wasn't aware I had autism when diagnosed, and I had no idea anything close to high-functionin...

I'm watching Frasier, The Ski Lodge episode. It is so hilarious, a real farce. I recall a few funny to me episodes. The seal at the beach one. The brick through the window one. The balloon popping mimicking gunshots in the recording room one. The ancestry one. This was a very long time ago, though....

And they ruined the Punisher skull, too. That one has been used in a tactless and embarrassing way for a very long time, sadly. Even more so with professionals around the world, who should know better. People should make their own individual symbols or something. It'll be more personal and meaningf...

SabbraCadabra , sounds like you're well versed with it all. Funnily, I've been experiencing hives ever since, but I'm not going to rule it in or out for COVID-19 as I've had them before. There's a chance they're related, as it's a recognized subacute or chronic symptom. I've just been using Cetiriz...

I feel like she only said that because I'm an independent adult. It's frustrating because I really need help. I'm physically awkward, clumsy, and have constant muscle weakness and pain. I've had someone make fun of the way I stand which means my physical awkwardness is apparent to others. You were ...

IMO, it's maybe caused by aberrant maternal antibodies passed onto the child, maybe from a microbe in combination with genetic susceptibility, which leads to neuroinflammation in said child. :| Immune system related anyway. -my mother was 21 -both parents show symptoms of an ASD, sister ADHD -yeah, ...

I'm actually glad masks are optional now. Still likely a good idea to wear at least a surgical mask, even if it's uncomfortable. It'll lower the initial dose, leading to less severe disease, which is always a positive thing. In combination with vaccine doses, it'll allow them to work better as ther...

I think my question is this; Were you better off, before you realised you were autistic ,or worse off after you were diagnosed, if so, why? Well, I was "better off" before knowing I had such simply because I was managing it fairly well and likely wouldn't have been diagnosed with such, ev...

Ettina , it will also be hard as adults with autism can exhibit delusions and/or hallucinations in a transient manner when highly overwhelmed, i.e., days to weeks. This could lead to a misdiagnosis of comorbid schizophrenia if the clinicians don't get the duration of such down accurately. To compli...

Thank you so much. It's no problem. :) I'm sorry to hear of your suffering, problems, and they sound quite marked (that's an understatement considering your dangerous physical reactions to such). Frequent wearing of headphones and/or earmuffs really do a number on your head, and I've seen that one....
