I was only diagnosed a couple of years ago and its made my life way better. I used to feel like I had an obligation to socialize and all that BS because I assumed everyone else was like me but they made an effort to socialize because its something we have to do to survive or whatever. Once I got dia...

The same happened to me when I was on ritalin. Switch to dexedrine or adderall if you can it doesn't have half the tranquilizing effect ritalin or concerta does.

Do you know anyone with heavier form of autism? I know one guy thats about 35 who isn't high functioning enough to function normally in society but he can talk and I can see hes in a different mindset to other people. I've noticed many people automatically assume this guy is mentally ret*d and some ...

I don't see why this isn't scientific. It depends on the kinda speakers/headphones you have I suppose but if they make your speakers emit a sound of that specific frequency then its a decent test. I can't even hear above 15. OP you sure you're a human? The threshhold of human hearing is supposed to ...

Ive noticed the vast majority of the brothers and sisters on WP listen to the same sort of music, and barely none can stand rap, hip-hop, grime the like of that. Is it aspie reasons, a matter of taste, or somethig else ? I like it all rap, country, Scandinavian death metal, even Romanian gypsy musi...

Concerta. It's a relatively low dose, but it gives me enough of an edge that I can plan a little more easily, break out of hyperfocus sooner, and not "freeze" as often. I think I probably have ADHD, except that you can't diagnose it along with a PDD. Methylphenidate gives me the worst comedowns I'v...

I know what you mean. Sometimes I stare at people and observe the noises they're making but have no idea what the hell they're talking about. The only solution I know is to keep translating everything you hear into pictures and eventually it will start happening automatically. For me most common nou...

Incidentally, are there any tricks to increase the rate of lucid dreams? I quite enjoyed the last one I had, I decided I was indesctructible, and could jump as far as the incredible hulk. Yeah everyday look at your hands and ask yourself "Is this a dream?" no need to actually ask that with words ju...

Lots of people here with anxiety. Any of you tried GHB? I'm not suggesting anyone do anything illegal but that substance happens to be fairly easy to make.

People who believe thinking is "weird" are mindless simpletons. When they laugh just tell them to buzz off and quit disturbing you or you'll get the fly swatter and smack them over the head. Also, let them know that your thoughts are more significant than their peon sex and sports infested monkey b...

Yeah I wouldn't wanna be neurotypical either. I think my natural talent for thinking outside the box as well as putting my knowledge together to make new things is directly related to high functioning autism.

Yeah I have the same problem. Especially around females they seem to get offended a lot easier than males. People think I'm doing it on purpose because I'm an as*hole or something, I never tell anyone I'm mildly autistic maybe they wouldn't get offended as easily if they knew that.

People have made fun of me for looking "high" and I suspect that they think I am "high" often. The worst part is that random strangers and even teachers have been vocal about.it. I suspect now that lots of people just assume that about me and I deal with it. I don't touch any drugs, not even alcoho...

Neurotypical people probably find me odd in many ways but 1 thing they really seem to find bizarre is thinking. If I just sit on the couch thinking my brothers look at the TV and start laughing because its not even turned on they seem to think its just another crazy thing I do. When theres no TV in ...

This is an autism forum full of people with high functioning autism so I don't think your experiences are gonna sound unusual to anyone here. I go through the exact same things you described every day. I lost all inhibitions about socializing years ago out of obligation because I didn't even know wh...
