Eccelson was my first and still my favorite. I wish he'd gotten more/better episodes and I'm sad he won't be back for the 50th. I'd think more highly of David Tennant if his last 6 or so episodes were devoted to him "dying". Could go either way on Matt Smith, hoping he regenerates after Christmas.

Carcass is a grindcore/brutal death metal band. One of the founders of the genre. Here is an example of a song of theirs that is clearly melodic and more than "just noise".

Headphones are great for music, but most video games have sound effects that are too jarring or repetitive to warrant the use of headphones.

I'll use headphones if a game has a particularly good soundtrack or well produced sound design.

Half Life 2 is a great headphones game.

I'm surprised The Final Cut rates so high on your list. I bought it when it first came out. Yeah, I tried, really tried , to live it. The only track I thought was passably okay was 'f**k All That.' The album sounds like it was written and produced quickly, not that they had anything new to say, but...

I just wondering what everyone's opinions were on a band that's pretty much universally liked. My list: 1. The Final Cut 2. Animals/Wish You Were Here (tied, I go back and forth on which I prefer) 4. Dark Side of the Moon 5. A Saucerrful Of Secrets 6. The Wall 7. Meddle 8. Piper At The Gates Of Dawn...

Its got nothing to do with what they're saying or the culture of it. Its got to do with the fact that a) the "singing" in metal is basically just someone screaming at the top of their lungs, which does not require talent and is not pleasant to listen to and b) musically, its uninteresting - there's...

Seems like an unfair fight to me. The fastest thing alive versus a guy who can jump and shoot? The outcome seems obvious.

Maybe if Mega Man has prep time.

The Mountain Goats are pretty much the only constant in the past few years.

Bands that I've been listening to recently:
The Birthday Party
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Darkthrone

Bands that phase in and out depending on my mood:
Ween
Death
Van Der Graaf Generator
Marillion
King Crimson

I definitely prefer partner because it doesn't imply gender or gender roles in a relationship.
