Aren't there normal, intelligent people who go to clubs without the sole intention of conning some idiot into sleeping with them? ... Can anyone offer suggestions of other places to go to meet people, and how to meet the first ones? I go to the weekly Anthropology Club meetings at my college. I hav...

If you are Mac user, this might be what you're looking for:

VooDooPad

Back when I had a Mac, I would type up encyclopedias about my special interests in VooDooPad. It's almost like having your own Wikipedia.

Social anxiety is surprisingly varied. I'm perfectly fine in crowds and gatherings, as long as I can remain anonymous or impersonal. In fact I am a vary good public speaker. However, I fear anything intimate or casual.

Fear of wrongly concluding that I have a friend.

Fear of being inescapably pathetic.

Of course those things tie into my Social Phobia.

Also, Al Bowlly is one of my favourites among British pre-war jazz vocalists - are you a fan? I hadn't heard of him, but now that I've looked him up on Youtube, I can see why you're a fan. Generally, my taste in ragtime/trad. jazz bands, instrumentalists and composers is fairly mainstream: the 'Big...

I used to listen to Elite Syncopations Radio on Live365. Mimi Blais has done a lot of ragtime recordings I like. It's been a while, so I can't remember any of the less-than-obvious names of composers. St. James Infirmary Blues stuck with me. There's more from Pre-1940 that I like: do you listen to a...

Since I was about five years old, I felt displaced. I was unable to understand the system and, as a matter of fact: It hasn't changed a bit. I sympathize. Only recently have I realized that that's not what my life is supposed to be like. It helps a lot to know people who have had the same experienc...
