Like I said I’ve no time for celeb culture, I hate the shallowness of it, maybe one of the few things I appreciate by not being NT. I hate all things shallow and the boring “look at me” culture. Perhaps the only good thing to come of it, is it will highlight the plight of biological parents forced t... |

To quote my favorite neuroscientist Manuel Casanova “by claiming autism is not a pain or a handicap to some do they change medicine? Do they erase the existence of seizures, mood disorders, impaired attention, learning difficulties or sensory abnormalities in a majority of autistic individuals.” I c... |

The Walrus posted something interesting the other day regarding this topic & the future of ND: https://wrongplanet.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=387431&start=30 The issue is that some people with some conditions that you personally would like to be cured or eliminated think “my conditio... |

Everyone experiences things differently. I remember there was a time before my diagnosis when I quite liked the way my brain worked even though I knew I was different. I used to dismiss every failed opportunity, social interaction, job on others or put it out of my mind. Now I know I was just like a... |

Well it is a spectrum and the d in asd for disorder is there for a reason, even if your personal symptoms are mild. They don’t build special schools, provide life long disability benefits, build 24h residential care institutions, spend billions in research, not to mention get into a massive debate o... |

Well it’s good you’ve overcome your problems. There officially isn’t such thing as Aspergers anymore we’re all lumped together under the autism umbrella from the most capable to those severely disabled who won’t live past 36. Many advocates try to pretend severe autism does not exist or downplay the... |

Researchers may have at last found a genetic marker for all or most with asd, published just a few weeks ago. Just shows autism research is worldwide proud that Hispanic countries are playing a major part: https://www.genengnews.com/news/autism-linked-to-group-of-dysregulated-synapse-and-neurotransm... |

Autism is just a 1940s parking space for brain disorders science did not understand.
We now know there are probably many different autism’s each with their own causes and levels of disability.
Some with possible potential future treatments. |

Yes Tom Clements seems like he’s a good level headed advocate.
Sound like you are being indoctrinated rather than educated.Good for you in seeing the bigger picture.
The US constitution would protect against Nazi like demands of jailing people for an opinion anyway. |

1.You make the classic mistake in thinking nobody wants curing of their autism, some do and that is their right along with research establishments helping make that happen. Just as trans people have the right to change genders. 2. Wanting to be cured of a medical condition is not “hate” neither is r... |

“Neurodivergence” is an artificial word created by ND creator Judy Singer a bit like “neurocorrect”, (one I made up) It has no basis in medical science Schizophrenics have created their own smaller movement and I’m sure many other groups good, bad and wicked will create their own at some point using... |

The kind of question that highlights the disconnect between what advocates want and think the world could look like and the stark reality of being autistic, where communication is a core deficit. To be a politician one must have exceptional verbal communication skills prob in the top 1%, most NT`s d... |
