Thank you Cheryll and ASPartofMe, for your feedback. Do you have any suggestions as to how I might tackle that problem?

I should be planning my retirement, comparing various investment choices, preparing a budget, checking with the retirement board. But I find I have all my relevant papers laid out all over the living room and can't even bring myself to look at them. I'm tired all the time, sleep too little, and whil...

It's not just a matter of whether you want to be a parent ... but because it affects other people, you should also consider whether you would be any good as a parent. There are ways to test this out, babysitting, being around young children, etc. I've known some people on the spectrum who were good ...

two thoughts: First, part of being a feminist is what you demonstrate, suggest and teach to the next generation about women's roles. In this sense, I think adopting some domestic roles as well as some wage-earning roles gives your daughters the most choices and your sons the broadest minds. Second, ...

Yes. I don't want to escape all of the time, but over the course of decades, I've felt that very, very often.

When you can create a home for yourself that is decorated to your taste, perhaps that will be where you want to escape to.

Judging by the interactions among my family members, several of whom are autistic, yes. Loving to argue IS an aspie/autistic trait.

I have had some good friends who were very normal (NT) and had successful lives. Trouble is, after job change and moving to other places, I didn't keep up with them. I have one normal (NT) friend at work now, who I probably won't keep up with after I retire. I have some other friends who had success...

I'm in Madison, Wisconsin. My daughter recently got Sec. 8, which is a big bureaucracy and tricky to get into, but she got an apartment that is NOT housing projects, it's just regular market rate housing but they did accept her voucher. There are also a number of buildings that provide reduced rent,...

Fleur, you very well may be eligible for SSDI or SSI. Your combination of impairments may reach a level that qualifies you. If you want more advice on this, let me know. I got my adult daughter on SSI on the first try with autism, concussion history, anxiety and depression as the main conditions. As...

1. Figure out how to get along with other people better. You need them to succeed. 2. Get a credential to improve employability in a field that will always need workers. 3. Don't quit stuff so readily. Half of life is just showing up. 4. You're a good person. It took me half a century to figure that...
