I don't know much about ABA therapy. Except that they are supposed to punish the kids for not behave in the right way. Like spraying vinegar in their eyes if they do hand flapping or don't give them a cookie unless they look them in the eye or let them hug them. How do you apply that kind of therap...

I wasn't diagnosed until I was 47 but I have young Autistic cousins and some of them have had ABA therapy. From what I hear from their parents, it was horrible. And for people who will say that ABA has changed, my youngest cousin who went through it is currently seven years old so it was not long ag...

Super congrats on your diagnosis. There really isn't any reason to feel different after getting diagnosed because you are still the exact same person that you have always been. Nothing about that changes just because you can now identify the neurology that you have. What I felt, I was diagnosed nine...

Thank you so much you guys! After putting up with their incompetence and unprofessionalism for 17 years, I finally had enough. The main reason I liked them and stuck with them for so long was their proximity to my house, it was a very short commute. They also do OMT, osteopathic manipulation therapy...

I can't quote the original post because me computer is from the 1600s and it won't work properly. You feel much younger because you are much younger. The Autistic brain is literally younger than its neurotypical counterpart in emotional and social areas of development. That is part of the definition...

Has anybody tried to tell you that you are making excuses, when you are trying to explain your disability? What's the difference? I get that all the time and I hate it. The difference is in the intent. If you are saying what you are saying just because you want to get out of doing something that yo...

I sometimes think I wouldn't be regretful if I had spent the last decade having lots of sex, travelling to multiple countries, drinking and partying all the time, driving fast cars and so on which I seem to think every 20 year old does or is doing right now. I'm sorry if that sounds like I'm stereo...

The lawyer contacted me again. She is relentless. I had decided to do the no contact thing but I can't block her until I get what I need from her. I can't respond because I refuse to engage and fuel her bullying. But the pain that this is causing me is unbelievable. People look at me and they see my...

Try not to think in those terms. You are you. There is no right and wrong in that. You function however you function. It's not about being right or wrong in how you function, you just need to function in a way that works for you no matter how it compares to other people. This is why I hate it so muc...
