I wouldn't say mine rotate, since that implies an order, but they definitely have periods of greater or lesser focus relative to my other interests. (Except for my interest in relationships, that's always high.) Right now, writing and math are high, while chess puzzles and science journals are low....

Oh yea I do this. I'll be real hard core into something for x amount of time, then it will sort of fall off and I'll just be not doing much till something else takes its place. It can be days or a few weeks that it lasts, or sometimes even a year or more than that. Its odd because its almost like yo...

There's a grocery store near us that I'm fine going to, if it's not busy. If it's busy I get really, really overwhelmed and find it hard to pay attention to anything. I can't handle all the information of trying to avoid everyone around me, try to look out for things we need, navigate to specific a...

General knowledge, pretty average. Social knowledge less intelligent than others. So yeah pretty average mostly, nothing super star about me.

I don't always have this trouble, but I notice the busier it is the more likely it is to be worse. I had to go to the grocery store today for a little with DH (on a Sunday) and I almost couldn't stand to be in the store. Felt like all the little noises were hitting my ears at the same time and had t...

I do to some extent. For work (as a female) I have 4 different colored identical polo shirts, and rotate them through the week and that is all that I wear for shirts at work. I have a grey pair of pants, a khaki, and a black, and rotate those too. This is my work wardrobe. I'm sure people think I'm ...

Yeah I have to write everything down. Helps a lot.

That is a good idea to automate anything that can be.

I wear simple clothes and rotate them so laundry isn't ever too bad. Also solves the what to wear that isn't going to drive me nuts problem.

Ugh, yes! I work in education and it is this boiled down microcosm of society as you are describing and I hate that about it!! I also feel so confused how everyone operates with such weird optics and double talk. I know I don't really understand NTs, and it is so odd how they say one thing and do a...

Good for you, its hard to make calls like that. I have a hard time with doing things like that too, usually my husband does it. Heck I practically have to practice or even write what I want to say. Kudos, things like that are stressful.

Not sure if this is an okay question to ask, if not then it can be removed. Is it ok to ask if anyone knows or knows someone who has found a professional (the correct kind) to accurately diagnose adult autism in the state of Ohio? I wish it wasn't so difficult to find for us adults as it is all so g...

I do this too, I didn't realize how other people do not do it till my husband pointed it out to me. At my work there are these metal walls with a neat texture and most days I will (if no one is looking) run my fingers along it as I walk past. I guess most adults don't do this lol.

I just found out that I can get noise-cancelling headphones / earplugs, as well as other assistive equipment (weighted blanket, chewies, Irlen lenses, and Developmental Optometry) covered by insurance because of Autism / ADHD. WOOT. I have tinnitus, misophonia, and hyperacusis. I'm looking for reco...

One thing that seems to always work is asking people about their kids or grandkids, how they are doing. People LOVE to talk about their kids and grandkids, and they think you are nice for asking about them so it really works. Usually they just keep talking on these topics so you don't even have to s...

I'm sorry your supervisor was being awful. It's especially galling when you know you are a good employee and do a good job, but that can't be good enough. It would be real nice if jobs didn't also come with all the other people's issues and mistreatment.
