I hate it so much and I really hate that it's required in ridiculous situations. For instance I recently had to call about a bill. After being transferred and put on hold for a 1/2 hour he gave me to a woman. She wanted to make chit chat. I pretended to be pleasant but I was basically screaming in m...

Luckily a member of my family is a hairdresser and trims my hair for me now. I haven't been to a salon in 14 years. I have unruly hair so every time I went as a child/teen was a nightmare. First I would get called weird because I don't want to talk about myself. Then I would get yelled at for "not b...

Yes, I've been like this forever and have also been called sunshine or smiley sarcastically. The one that really annoys me is when super old guys come up and say "You're a pretty girl, you should be smiling". So gross and they were always saying that when I was younger (a lot from 15-21), ick.

The thing is that I grew up around so many relative's kids in my family that I basically helped raise their children that for years I couldn't understand how anyone would want them (I was so over kids). However as I've gotten older I guess my biological clock is ticking or something because I see ba...

you're just not trying hard enough? [/quote] Wow, that really resonated with me. I was trying to explain some of the balance stuff regarding this with my mother and when I brought up all of the "easy" things that I could never master she said it again "you could have done that but you didn't try ha...

Personally I've just felt that I had social anxiety when I first read about it a few years ago. The problem was that even though I tried being social and working I never 'got used to people'. Then recently when I was really upset I found some things that I wrote as a child that really upset and conf...

Yes, about everything. I remember watching a movie not long ago with my dad with a neurotic character who was explaining how they can't get to sleep because they can't turn their mind off. They went off on a tangent about that for a few minutes so my dad turned to me and said 'they're nuts'. I said ...

Yes, but rightfully so since I've never accomplished anything. I don't feel as bad since I've come to the conclusion that this is my problem but it's still there.

Definitely. Plus my sister is so overpowering socially (she's like the opposite of me in that way) that when she even calls me on the phone and talks to me for like a 1/2 hour I'm exhausted when I hang up.
